About this Cook
I am in the undcr 30s club with a husband and an infant. I am a business professional who finds cooking time consuming especially after a long days work.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The appetizers at family gatherings are my responsibility. The must have are ham rolls and artichoke dip. So I have learned to do that very well.

Bangin' Banana Bread
I normally make "Janet's Rich Banana Bread" recipe from, but I was out of sour cream so I decided to try this recipe. Bangin' banana bread was more dense than "janet's rich banana bread". I prefer not to puree the bananas - but I did per the recipe instructions. I also left out the nuts. I cooked the bread for 60 minutes in a glass pan and this was too long. I would only make this recipe again if I was out of sour cream and had really ripe bananas - otherwise, I would go back to "Janet's Rich Banana Bread".

Soft Sugar Cookies V
These cookies were definitely softer - almost cake like. My husband liked to eat them all by themselves with no frosting. I on the other hand did not think they were sweet enough - the nutmeg seemed strong to me. I did not refrigerate the dough overnight - instead I placed in the freezer to harden to make cutting shapes easier. Lots of flour also helped. I would try another recipe before coming back to this was not bad, but I am looking for a different flavor and texture - even though this was soft.

Overnight Blueberry French Toast
Absolutely perfect recipe - followed it exactly. 1) Loved that I could prepare this the night before. 2) The glaze recipe was delicious and super easy to make - I will use the glaze for other things in the future 3) It did take much longer to cook than the directions detail - I think I cooked for at least 30 minutes longer My husband only recommendation was to use French Bread next time - and I might just try that. This was our Christmas breakfast. It was great. I do recommend adding a protein on the side because this is so sweet all by itself.
