Best Ever Chocolate Cutout Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2002
We LOVED this cookie recipe! I made them for Valentine's Day this week, icing them with an almond-flavored confectionary glaze in pink and white. They were very pretty--but, more importantly, very yummy! I love sugar cookies, so these were right up my alley. I think my kids still prefer traditional sugar cookies, but they enjoyed these too. Recipe was very simple and the cookies really kept their shape nicely. Thanks!

Beef Pot Pie III

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2001
I prepared and froze this dish for my 'once-a-month cooking' group--I thawed and cooked my pot pie this evening, and it was great! I made a few changes to the recipe that made it a good bit easier--I used a frozen green pea/carrot mix for the veggies, and I also used frozen cubed hash brown potatoes for the potatoes. Since I was going to be freezing my pies, I didn't precook the veggies at all (didn't even thaw them!), just added them into the pie and covered with gravy--it was a lot easier! I also added some undiluted cream mushroom soup and dry brown gravy mix to the sauce, and was then able to omit the cornstarch. My family enjoyed this a lot, even my 19-month-old! Thanks

Marmalade Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2001
We loved this recipe, I will definitely make it again! I tasted the soy sauce/marmalade mixture before putting it over the chops and it seemed like it needed something more, so I added about a teaspoon of fresh minced garlic--it was delicious! The pork chops came out very tender, and that is a must for my family to eat them. Thanks!

Pizza Pasta

Reviewed: May 25, 2001
This was a very good basic dish and my son and husband liked it. I added Italian sausage and fresh mushrooms and it was very good. I also froze a portion of the casserole before baking; I thawed it later and baked, and it was delicious!

Nora's Special Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: May 25, 2001
My 3-year-old son wanted to make muffins a few days ago, and I didn't have any prepackaged mixes--we found this recipe, he helped me make it, and the muffins turned out great! I froze the remaining muffins; we reheated some this morning and they are great out of the freezer too!

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2000
I made this recipe and put it in the freezer for my Once-a-Month cooking group--my family loved it and so did everyone else! I will definitely be making mini loaves to go with teacher Christmas gifts! Also, I used pecans (I think the recipe called for a different kind of nut) and it tasted great!
