Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2004
Very Good. Both me and my husband like meatloaf so it was nice to have something different for a change & good! This was easy too. The best part was that my kids who won't eat my regular meatloaf did eat this and wanted seconds!

Simple, Classic Chicken Potpie

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
Classic comfort food! I made my own crust...so easy: 2 cups all purpose white flour, 2 1/2 t. salt, 1/2 cup vegetable oil, 1/4 cup cold milk, waxed paper. Place flour and salt in small mixing bowl. Measure milk and oil, then pour together over flour. Quickly stir with a fork (do not over mix). Press dough into ball--do not knead and cut ball in half. Working with each half, press into flattened circle and place between 2 sheets of waxed paper. Using a rolling pin, roll each dough half to size needed to cover pie plate. Remove top waxed paper and using bottom paper to assist, flip crust over onto pie plate. Then remove second wax paper.

Rick's Special Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
Super! Made half the recipe for 24 cupcakes. Very generous topping & had about 3/4 cup leftover. As many others I did half shortening and half butter. I don't consider myself well-versed in the cake decorating department at all....so, I felt pretty proud of myself that I even piped the frosting on and it looked 'almost' professional!!

Honey Garlic Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2008
Really easy to put together & a lot less $$$ then buying pre-made dressing. Hubby loved the strong garlic flavor, me...not so much. Next time I'll add less garlic. Still yummy on the greens.

Honey-Mustard Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2008
Wow...really good, really easy...why buy? So much better! I only made a quarter of the recipe & still have plenty left over. I did use dijon mustard.

Papa Drexler's Bavarian Pretzels

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2009
These scored big time with the kids & hubby! I still prefer the "Mall Pretzel" recipe for taste, but, these are MUCH easier & faster to make. These pretzels do not require any rise time. I made 12 small ones instead of 6 large

Chunky Monkey Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
What a fun recipe! The kids loved them. They where hearty too...only took about 3 pancakes each to fill up my teens. Can't wait to make them at the next extended family gathering for our breakfast buffet.

The Whole Jar of Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2007
Best peanut butter cookied recipe I have ever used. Super Yummy!! I did use 1/2 butter & 1/2 Butter Flavored Crisco (because that is what I had). For part of the batch I put a heaping T. of p'nut butter dough into cupcake liners and baked for about 10-12 min. & then pushed one Reeses P'nut Butter Cup (the mini ones) into each warm cookie---p'nut butter & chocolate lovers dream!!

After-Thanksgiving Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2007
This was fabulous! Cleaning up after the Thanksgiving meal I threw the turkey carcass right into the pot and boiled the broth & finished making the soup next day--so easy. The only changes I made: I only used 1/2 c. butter (couldn't bring myself to use a whole cup--I'm sure the extra butter makes it richer) and only used 2 chopped onions. Good the first day, but, even better the second day! It is not a spicey soup...very mild with the cream. This recipe will be part of our day after turkey tradition!

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2009
Wonderful! Made hubby this for Fathers Day & everyone loved it! I did not find it overly sweet, and the cheesecake had a light and fluffy texture. I used crushed chocolate grahams for the crust. However, mine heavily cracked--next time I will make sure to read some of the reviews to find out the proper way to bake it.

The World's Greatest Crab Recipe

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2009
Even though we love crab legs, we have never prepared them at home. Well, this will probably be the only way we fix them in the future. They were SOOO easy & the taste was OUTSTANDING! It didn't even need the side of dipping butter. I used way less garlic because I didn't have enough (and quite frankly thought 1/2 c. was way too much)...but, because you are basing the outside of the shells, you need a lot of garlic. Next time I'll use more garlic. Served with AR's: "Connies Zucchini Crab Cakes" and thought it was a nice compliment. Can't wait for the crab legs to go on sale again!

Cheesy Ranch Potato Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
Was a very yummy & easy side to our grilled bugers. I agree with many of the other reviewers & think the butter can be cut down on some without sacrificing flavor. I used a mixture of jack cheese, sharp cheddar and american cheese. Perfect for a large group---could easily be kept warm in a crock pot.

Panzanella Panini

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2010
This was an excellent sandwich! Loved all the flavors together. The only change I made was to add some sliced red onion. Hubby wanted a few slices of ham on his....mine was all veggies & it was good! Looking forward to making this many more times.
