Butternut Squash Bisque

Made for Thanksgiving '08. This was quite good and very easy to make. The adults enjoyed it, but, the kids... not so much. Made homemade rosemary crackers to serve along with it.

Cranberry Orange Cookies

Loved this recipe! I think on of my favorite cookie recipes so far on AR. Yummy holiday cookie. One large orange give enough juice and zest called for in recipe. Chopping the fresh cranberries in the food processer worked great.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Upside Down Pumpkin Cake

Made two pans for two different events....got tons of compliments from both & several requests for the recipe. Hubby even went as fas as to say it was the best pumpkin type dessert he has ever eaten.

White Chocolate Fruit Tart

Wow! Excellent! Made for hubby's birthday and he loved it & so did everyone else. I know several reviewers had problems with the crust, but, I thought it was excellent---very shortbread like. It's not like a pie crust, so, I didn't even bother rolling it out because it was way too soft. I just dropped it in my pan and took a spatula (used my finger too) and pushed it around the pan & up the sides until it was even--really didn't take much time at all. The only mistake I made was that I didn't thicken the glaze enough, next time I'll cook it longer--the tart still came out excellent.

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Made a batch up for a brunch & everyone loved them! It was the first time making scones & this recipe makes 12 HUGE scones....next time I'll probabley make smaller ones. I can see where you could easily add dried cherries, choco chips, etc....to change up the flavor.

Playgroup Granola Bars

Don't let the name fool you....these are not only for little kids! Made up a batch for a woman's meeting & they didn't make it out the door. The bars where eaten all up by my teens and husband. Like many of the reviewers already said...easily can add your own 'extra's'.

Baked Pork Chops with Apple Raisin Stuffing

Dissapointed, I thought the stuffing and pork chops both came out fairly dry. I did use boneless pork chops, maybe ones with the bone-in would of been a better choice.

Bourbon Pecan Chicken

The whole family enjoyed this. By mistake I breaded the chicken by dipping in egg & then into the pecan/bread crumb mixture (instead of following the recipe)---but, it worked fine browning the chicken nicely. I also, went by a previous reviewers suggestion and sauted the chicken for a few minutes on each side and then baking in 375 oven for about 20 min. Also, as per several reviewers I doubled the sauce, but, ended up with too much--next time I won't double.

Awesome Egg Salad with a Kick

Honey Garlic Vinaigrette

Really easy to put together & a lot less $$$ then buying pre-made dressing. Hubby loved the strong garlic flavor, me...not so much. Next time I'll add less garlic. Still yummy on the greens.
