BBQ Chicken Pizza I

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
Yummy, Yummers!!! Used pizza dough from Trader Joes and precooked it a bit on my pizza stone. The shredded smoked gouda didn't really melt, but, still liked the flavor with the rest of ingredients so need to watch that the cheese dosen't get too over-done on pizza. Next time may cut back on sugar depending on how sweet the b-b-q sauce is. Still the best B-B-Q pizza I've made!

Restaurant-Style Coleslaw I

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
As coleslaws go, this one was one of the best I have made. Sweet w/light onion flavor and the dressing was fairly thin, not too thick.

We thought this was very good. Only used about 1/2 t. of cayenne pepper and it was still pretty hot for us. Will make again & again!

Baked Scallops

Really good. First time making scallops...although I love them. So easy, I'll be doing these again! Mine only took about 13-15 min. to bake.

Smooth and Creamy Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2010
Yummers....thought it set up and tasted better about day 2 and 3. I did refrig. it several hours before serving but, it still was fairly soft---however, it didn't stop people from eating it. Next time I"ll refrig. at least 1-2 days. Really easy too!

Excellent Apple Gingerbread

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2010
Good and lasts a while in the refrigerator. My candied walnuts didn't turn out that great--not sure if it was me or the recipe (which I followed). Next time I will not use canned apples...I'll saute fresh ones with a little sugar and cinnamon. A nice fall cake.

Favorite Bourbon Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2010
This was a really good and EASY Bourbon Pecan Pie recipe. My ugly picture with my horrible looking pie crust (but, it tasted good!) doesn't do this pie justice.

Beef Bulgogi

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2010
This was really, really, REALLY good!!! The marinate was to die for. Semi froze the flank and it was easy to get thin slices. I did let it marinate for at least 5 hours. Never have eaten Beef Bulgogi before, so, didn't really know what side dishes to serve with it. Next time I will double the marinate---keeping some to cook at the end and serve with the meat and rice. Found the red leaf lettuce too flimsy---next time I'll try a different lettuce. Made a cucumber salad as others suggested & thought it was a good compliment.

Beef Tenderloin With Roasted Shallots

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2010
When dealing with an expense cut of meat & all the ingred. to go along with it, I was a bit nervous about how well it would turn out. But, WOW....this was amazing. I didn't change a thing. Used a Tawny Port Wine. I made it for my husband's birthday and all his said thru the whole thing was "this is the best meal I've ever had!". I did put a meat thermometer in, but, my meat was ready at 25 min. as per the recipe --it was perfect. It was a tedious recipe, but, not difficult. I did double the sauce as some of the other reviewers suggested, however, I think we would of been fine with a single portion--there was quite a bit of the delicious gravy left over.

Five Spice Turkey Cheeseburgers

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
I thought this was a pretty turkey burger, it had a nice flavor and was very moist. The rest of my family would probably only rate it 3 stars---they like another recipe on AR better: "Indian Turkey Burgers With Lime, Cucumbers & Chutney". Would still make these again but, would cut back a bit on the spices. Served with an asian sweet slaw & Crispy Homemade Fries (AR recipe).
