Peppered Bacon and Tomato Linguine

Reviewed: May 12, 2008
Was disappointed, thought this would be much better flavor. Would add a lot more garlic next time & green onion too. Also would use fresh basil.

Kids and hubby really liked this. Good comfort food. This would be a good dish to make for a pot luck.

Green and Bleu Salad

Reviewed: May 8, 2008
Really different, gourmet-like. This would be a nice salad to impress a dinner party. Hubby and I liked it a lot, the kids not so much.

Chicken and Bacon Shish Kabobs

Reviewed: May 8, 2008
My boys loved the bacon/chicken combo...I thought the marinate could of been better...maybe add some fresh garlic like some suggested.

Cucumber-Avocado Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2008
This came out so thick it was more for dipping then a dressing. I did add more oil hoping to thin it out a bit, but, it still was too thick. I think it could of used a bit more seasoning too. Ended up dipping veggies in it,

Frosty Strawberry Squares

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2008
We really liked this, something a bit different to use with all the fresh strawberries coming into season. I didn't care for the large frozen strawberry slices, next time I will try chopping them smaller or mash them up a bit before adding to the cream.

A very tasty pizza. A nice change from the traditional pizza. Did not make any changes.

Chili con Carne II

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2008
This was made to use on hot dogs & it worked well because it was thick and not very spicy. Next time (for use on hotdogs) I will omit the beans.

Unbelievable Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2008
Really good chicken marinate. I made the marinate the night before and then added chicken the next day, about 6-8 hours before grilling.

Curried Chicken Tea Sandwiches

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2008
Excellent chicken salad. The longer this sat, the better it tasted...4 days it was the best! The only changes I made where adjustments to the dressing because I didn't have enough mayo. So I used 1/2 mayo, 1/2 salad dressing & some sour cream along with the lime juice and curry.

Sweet and Sour Meatballs (Suan T'ien Niu Jou Po Lo La Tzu)

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2008
This received a luke warm reception from the family. It wasn't bad---actually the sauce was good, but, we didn't care for the beef w/sweet & sour sauce...prefer chicken.

Pasta Pomodoro

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2008
Nice! Next time I will add more garlic & basil. I also think that next time I will make the sauce one day ahead so that the flavors have time to meld. I added chicken, which was good....but, I could see shirmp even working better. It was a nice light pasta which I'll make again!

Baked Oatmeal II

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2008
Thought these where just okay. I ended up cutting into bars, wrapping each in plastic wrap and freezing. Re-warmed them for a quick breakfast. I could see where this would be a good addition to a brunch, someone may be interested in a bit of a more healthy choice.

Cherry Pound Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
Nice flavor. Mine came out a bit dry & it only took 60 min. to bake. I did add some chopped pecans & wish I had added more cherries like others suggested. Also drizzled a glaze over top. This would be a nice cake to take to an event, because it would travel well.

Chicken Pasta Salad with Cashews and Dried Cranberries

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2008
This was good. I ended up using a whole box of pasta (12oz) because there seemed to be a lot of dressing (and I still didn't make up all the dressing). I did think that next time I'll either put cranberries OR grapes--but, not both. I used pecans because that was what I had on hand (I think cashews may have worked better with the flavor combo of this recipe). With a few changes to reflect our personal tastes, this will make a nice summer pasta salad.

Asparagus Chicken Crepes

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2008
Here is a recipe to make if you want to impress those future in-laws or the boss! It is gourmet quality, but, easily assembled in your own kitchen. I made it for Easter to rave reviews. It is super rich & fattening, so, it will probably only be served for special occasions--but, boy, it will be worth the wait! :)

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2008
Wow! Nice crust...great to work with. I did prewarm my pizza stone before putting on the crust after 1st rise (sprinkled corn flour over stone and took a fork and punched holes around the pie)...then baked it about 5-7 min. and then added all the pizza toppings and baked until pizza was done. When it came out after the pizza was done, I seasoned the crust with olive oil/garlic salt/parm. cheese. Yum!

Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2008
The boys LOVED this! Hubby couldn't stop eating it. I made 2 pizza's, one with the Blue Cheese Dressing and the other with Ranch Dressing---everyone liked both. Also used a combo of cheddar and mozzarella cheeses. I used Jay's Signature Crust recipe from this site.

Asparagus Quiche

Hubby said it was the best quiche he ever had. I thought it was pretty good, but, it seemed like it was missing a little something...not sure what. This would work real well for a brunch.
