Mexican Cookie Rings

Easy Lemon Cookies

Delicious, quick, easy, and tasty. I rolled in granulated sugar by mistake, but still like the result. Perfect for when you're in a pinch.

Chocolate Marshmallow Puffs

Hard to work with. The dough was too crumbly and once cooked, the marshmallow oozed out of the cracks of the "crackle cooke" which is what it was - not a puff. I tore up big marshmallows to mini-marshmallow size. The tast is decent, so with the second batch I got a 9x9 pan, put half of the dough in the bottom, sprinkled marshmallows on top, and then pressed the remaining dough on top, and made marshmallow puff bars. :) It was MUCH easier and the results were just as good. I likely cooked it for ~20-25 minutes? I do not advise the ball route. All in all, probably won't make again, but thanks for putting it up!

Berry Shortbread Dreams

Pretty good. Excellent taste. However, the dough is really crumbly and even after chilling, is hard to keep together. I had to add a touch of water. Also, I added 1/2 tsp of vanilla to the dough. Drizzle is lovely, but wait until the cookies fully cool or else the drizzle will meld with the jam and destroy its potential to be attractive. I also made these pretty large to have room for jam - had about 16, not 21.

Savory Crescent Chicken

Easy. Salt, peppered, and added paprika to the shredded cooked chicken before mixing with the rest of the called-for ingredients. Skipped the croutons and pimientos. Perfect for dinner parties - everyone gets their own! I thought there may be too much bread, though, and might roll out the dough a bit next time and make more "dumplings."

Pumpkin Cheesecake Dessert

I loved this, but no one in the family was quite taken by it. The pumpkin flavor overwhelms the cheesecake, so if you prefer the former over the latter, this is the cheesecake for you. Added extra cinnamon; the crust is amazing.

Garlic Potatoes Gratin

Delicious. Made for my family, all of whom loved it. I used 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and sliced. Microwaved them covered with plastic wrap for ~4.75 minutes, and then baked them for ~ 1 hour, or until tops browned. Also initially sprinkled salt, pepper, and paprika to potatoes to keep the dish from being too bland. It would be perfect for dinner parties or potlucks.

Texture: amazing- soft, toasts very well, dough easy to braid and work with. Taste: very very bland. This would be good to dip into flavored olive oil, or toast with honey or jam. But as a bread itself, the taste is lacking and flavorless. Process: I used my bread machine, putting in the milk, egg, & butter, followed by flour and yeast. I rose once in my machine. Then I took it out, braided it, and left it out for about 45 minutes (covered with a wet cloth) to rise (and it rose a lot, so I recommend a second rise). cooked about 20 minutes. Very light bread.- (If) Next-time alterations: add 3/4 teaspoon salt (a must), 1 tsp sugar.

Cocoa Almond Bread

Not a fan. Consistency is good and it is super easy to make, but the cocoa taste is too strong. Of course, I also dislike chocolate chips in my bread, so perhaps another would like this more.

OK. I didn't think it was anything amazing, but it did look pretty and taste decent. A little too much work for me. To save time, mix all 3 cups of the whipping cream at the same time and just half it.

Poppy Seed Yeast Bread

Light and airy with a tinge of sweetness. Wonderful bread, and the recipe creates a large loaf- I set my machine as 2 lbs. I used normal flour, no butter flavoring, and slightly less than 2 tbs. of poppy seeds. This doesn't dry out quickly and the best part is you can taste the poppy seed flavor (and see them!). My mom thought it needed to be sweeter, so I may increase the sugar next time.

Buttery Spritz Cookies

I really enjoyed these. The dough was a bit soft which made it somewhat hard to work with, but it worked in the end. I split the dough in thirds and dyed one batch blue and the other pink. Used silver sprinkles. Very tasty and melt in the mouth.

Yummy Peanut Butter Bread

It was decent. I increased to 1/2 a cup of creamy peanut butter, and you could definately taste it (a positive element). I also used normal flour. The bread itself isn't expecially moist or light. Quite tasty toasted with peanut butter on top. Would recommend crunchy peanut butter if you have it on hand.

Tiny Chicken Turnovers

I followed the directions, but the dough just didn't work for me. They turned out golden, crisp...and super crumbly and a bit too salty. You couldn't even pick them up without crumbling- so much for the appetizer potential. The chicken filling is quite good though- I would recommend that part. I won't make again...not worth the work for the result. Thanks for sharing though- they seemed more appealing to others.
