Apple Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2010
I think this is the perfect pie recipe. I have made it twice now - once with Granny Smith apples - sliced thinly - no runny texture at all. Yesterday made it again with Golden Delicious - runnier texture that did firm up after a few hours. My husband has asked that I quit looking, and just use this recipe now! For my oven, I found everything cooked fine for 45 min. at 375.

Cranberry, Sausage and Apple Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
Excellent! Since I was cooking for a picky crowd I used onions instead of leeks, and a bag of onion/sage breadcrumbs. I did have to add a little more stock, but otherwise, EVERYONE really enjoyed this. Family told me to keep this to make again. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
These are the best brownies I ever made. I took another reviewer's advice, and coated the chocolate chips with a little flour before adding to batter. Apart from that, I didn't deviate from the recipe at all. They are now a family favorite, and I will never go back to boxed brownie mix again!

Coconut-Cornflake Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2008
We LOVED these cookies! My husband, who thought he hated coconut, tried one and was hooked. He just asked when I was going to make his favorite cookies again - meaning these. Yes they are very sweet, but that is fine with us!

Cranberry Flax Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2008
great recipe! I only had powdered buttermilk on hand, and used two eggs instead of the whites, and it turned out fine. This is the fourth batch I have made - I add a few more spices - personal taste - a handful of quick cooking oats, and sprinkle in a few tablespoons of teff. My husband now eats these at night for a "treat."

Quinoa Pudding

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
I thought this was excellent! I usually hate reviewing recipes when I have modified them - but I had to onit the apple and lemon juices, and used organic vanilla soy instead as my husband HATES apple juice. Otherwise I made as directed. It is good leftover as well. Thanks for sharing!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2008
AMAZING! Having moved a few years ago from the mall maddness of So. California and Cinnabon stores everywhere, to rural PA, this recipe is a treat. My children had gone through Cinnabon withdrawal after we moved. Although not an exact clone, I almost think it is better, because it is not as overpoweringly sweet. I followed the recipe exactly, and didn't feel the need for any modifications. Thanks for sharing this! It was a huge hit with the family.

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2008
Perfect recipe! i did not use a bread machine, but used my stand mixer to mix/knead the bread. Loaves turned out perfectly. In fact, I have another bunch rising as I write this, because the two loaves I made yesterday are already gone!

Honey Glazed Carrots

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2008
Loved this! I made it based on the reviews, because honestly, the balsamic vinegar and honey combo just sounds weird - BUT - it was excellent. Even my husband, who is a carrot hater, cleaned his plate.

Ultimate Maple Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2006
Fabulous cookie! I rolled them in raw sugar crystals instead of regular granulated sugar - yum. I had packed half away to give to a friend, but my kids sniffed them out and finished the lot before I could give them away. Next time I will double the recipe!

Wonderful recipe! I baked them for 10 minutes so they were soft and chewy. Rolled them in natural sugar crystals instead of granulated suger - it gave them a little extra sparkle and crunch. This is a keeper - thank you!

Pork Chops in Beer

We really enjoyed this recipe. Seared the pork chops first with some salt/pepper/granulated garlic. Also cooked covered with foil for about 3/4 of cooking time.Served with buttered egg noodles on the side. The sauce was AWESOME on the noodles!

Greek Style Garlic Chicken Breast

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2005
Great recipe! I used a whole bag of frozen chicken breasts, made the marinade with extra lemon juice and garlic and coarse sea salt, and let it defrost/marinate in the bag, flipping in once in awhile. Grilled it as directed - even my PICKY kids ate it. Leftovers were wonderful on salad next day.

Rice and Lentil Casserole

Outstanding one-dish meal. My husband LOVED it and practically licked his plate. He even packaged up the leftovers for his lunch. I used 6 Italian sausages cut up into pieces. Thank you Jill - this will become a regular meal at our house!

Baked Pork Chops II

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2005
Really enjoyed this and so did my family. Based on other reviews, I modified it slightly - added sauteed onion and garlic, omitted the water, and used pasta sauce. I actually prepared this early, covered with foil, and let it sit in the fridge all day before cooking. The sauce was wonderful over rice. Will keep this one and make again.

wonderful recipe. My picky picky children ate half the loaf after I persuaded them to sample it. They asked for more this morning. This will definitely become something I make all the time!

Flax and Sunflower Seed Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2005
Outstanding recipe. I made it using ground flax seed, and used my stand mixer and baked in the oven. I did have to add about 1/2c additional flour. This bread has a marvelous texture. I can't wait for summer and fresh homegown tomatoes to have with this recipe!

Fabulous French Loaves

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2005
This recipe is FABULOUS! I omitted the egg wash and sesame seeds. I have also frozen this bread - double wrapped in Saran and foil, and it defrosted perfectly. In one batch, I also added a bunch of chopped garlic for a litle different taste, which also made great garlic bread when we have pasta. Even my normally food-clueless children have commented on how good this bread is.
