About this Cook
Fanatic hockey fan...Go Leafs Go!! Loves music, dancing, fitness, and playing with my kids. I love to go out and let my hair down but love those warm cozy nights by the fire. Studying in the medical field, but love working as a server in a trendy restaurant.... Would love to work in L.A. but would miss Northern Ontario too much! Love the snow and snow machines but could live in a house boat year round. Very casual, and comfortable but love to dress up and get noticed! Love my family, friends and the Toronto Maple Leafs.....regardless! Favorite colour? Pink Favorite movie? Valley of the Dolls Love the 20's and the 70's! Oh, and I love to cook! lol
My favorite things to cook
Turkey, holiday treats, Italian food definately.....love the quick and easy but feel great after a huge meal!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Now that the kids are older we love to make themed cookies everytime a holiday rolls around....(or if one weekend we decide it's time to celebrate how great they are lol)
My cooking triumphs
Christmas dinner single handedly.....2003
My cooking tragedies
First roast ever......dried out and unedible.......1992 sweet and sour chicken....more sour than sweet....2005 gingerbread.....don't even ask lol rice crispy squares.....can make a 10 course meal but don't ask for this all time favorite.....you really will be surprised!

Potatoes Romanoff
I made this recipe for the first time last night. (Feb14/08) I scaled the recipe in half as to not waste a lot if my family did not like. Boy, was I wrong. They ate it up and asked for more. I will be making it as a side tonight as well! The only things I did different were to use cooking onions as I ran out of green onions and added garlic.(as I do most recipes!) I scaled down the cheese just a bit but could of used more as recipe calls for. It was delicious!! A keeper for sure in this corner!

Gingered Pork Chops in Orange Juice
After reading the reviews I was a little aprehensive to try this. I tweaked the recipe a bit and it was a success! We are a garlic loving family so I put in garlic powder in with flour, ginger, etc. and fried up garlic cloves with the onions. I didn't have Brandy so I added a splash of red wine vinegar. The aroma was intense. I didn't use a lot of OJ and added a hint of ginger to the juices. My family loved this although I myself didn't feel my tasebuds pop. I did like it and will make it again because the kids enjoyed it as well as hubby. Next time however I will tweak it some more. All in all, not a bad recipe! Thanks!
