Broiled Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2001
This was not that good. I used boneless, skinless chicken breasts and cooked them in a grill pan basting with the sauce. The sauce is pretty bland and the taste of chili powder is not appetizing in this. My husband did not care for this either. I won't make this again.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2001
These muffins are very good. To make them healthier, I replaced 1/2 c. flour w/ 1/2 c. whole wheat flour; used low fat margarine instead of butter; cut the sugar to 1/2 cup; used 1/4 tsp. cinnamon for more flavor. Muffins did very moist and flavorful. Will make again!!!

Basil Chicken over Angel Hair

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2001
This was very tasty. I didn't have fresh tomatoes on hand so I added a 14 oz. can of diced tomatoes. I'm sure this is even better with fresh tomatoes. If using canned tomatoes, I think 1 tsp. sugar would help cut the tang of the tomatoes. My husband enjoyed this so I'll make this again!

Blue Ribbon Overnight Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2001
I put all ingredients in my bread machine and set it on the dough cycle; followed the directions from there and ended up with terrific rolls. I had a bit of trouble making them all look the same. My husband loved'em!

Cinnamon Bread I

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2001
This was very good. I used no-fat buttermilk; low fat margarine for the topping and replaced 1/2 the oil with applesauce and I cut back on the sugar to 3/4 c. Still very tasty and moist. Will make again.

American Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2001
Very good. I cut the recipe in half and used no-boil noodles. Lasagna sliced nicely and had good flavor but this is just your standard lasagna recipe. I will make this again though since it's good AND easy.

Sirloin Steak with Garlic Butter

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2001
This was very good. We don't have a grill yet so I seared these on the stove-top with the lid. Got a good crust on the steak and the garlic was tasty. To save on fat I used low-fat marg. I will definitely make this again.

I did not like this at all. For some reason this was quite bland. My husband liked it though. I won't be making this again.

Absolutely Fabulous Portobello Mushroom Tortellini

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2001
I made this at a grocery store demo and it went over very well. To cut the fat, I made a low fat alfredo sauce. This is very delicious and I'll definitely make this again!

Dairy Free Chocolate Pudding

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2001
This was pretty good though I could not keep the cocoa from clumping together. Next time I'll mix it with a blender or mixer before heating it up.

Salmon with Brown Sugar and Bourbon Glaze

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2001
This was ok but I won't make it again. Be careful with the temp.--the sugar burned.

Beer Cheese Soup II

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2001
I made this soup twice at 2 grocery store food demos. It was requested that I incorporate a tub of Rondele garlic-and-herb cheese spread so I did. I got many compliments and requests for the recipe.

Baking Powder Biscuits I

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2001
I used butter-flavor crisco and buttermilk instead of milk. These were surprisingly tender but a little bland. I won't make them again.

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2001
This tasted just like chili and nothing like tacos. I won't be making this one again. My husband is not a chili lover for some reason.

Thunderbird Stew

I was amazed at how tasty this turned out. I put in a whole chuck roast which was still slightly frozen. The meat was very tender. I will make this again.

White Russian Tiramisu

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2001
I did not care for this. Perhaps I just don't like tiramisu. The texture of the wet lady fingers just didn't do it for me. My husband took one bite and that was it. The filling is good though. I won't make this again.

Kathy's Award Winning Barbeque Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2001
YUM!!! I was feeling lazy when I made this so I dumped it all in the crock pot (minus the tomato sauce and onions); threw in 2 frozen boneless, skinless chicken breasts and cooked on low for about 6 hours. Very good! Sauce did not penetrate chicken much but there was a lot of flavor in sauce and chicken was tender. I'll make again.

Biggest Bestest Burger

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2001
These burgers were really good. I cooked them on the stovetop as we don't have a bbq and I had just cleaned my oven and didn't want to get it dirty! I'm sure the flavor would be even better when grilled or broiled. I'll make these again!

My husband and I did not think these fries were that good. For some reason none of the seasonings could be tasted. I won't make these again.
