Slow Cooked Venison

Reviewed: May 20, 2008
I really liked this. I like heat though. I think those who don't care for spicy heat they should cut the sirachi sauce down. I did sprinkle a little brown sugar in the sauce. Thanks for the recipe!

Russian Mushroom and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2008
Absolutely awesome. I made as the recipe read but next time I would cut the butter down to a tablespoon and use fat free half and half. There was too much butter floating on the top. Even Grumpy loved it!

Coconut Banana Bread with Lime Glaze - Cooking Light

I have made this particular recipe several times - and it is awesome! I have also used coconut extract in place of vanilla. The lime and coconut go so well together!

Classic Caramel Corn

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2012
This was excellent. While cooking the syrup I also used a candy thermometer. I wanted to see how hot it got while boiling for the suggested amount of time - and it did come to a hard crack stage. The caramel coating was crisp, crunchy and full of caramel flavor. One of our favorites! I shared this at work also and it went over VERY well!

1-Dish Pepperoni Cheese Pizza Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2012
This gets 5 stars for being quick, easy, and delicious! I would definitely make pizza this way again when I am short on time or feeling a little lazy. :) I was thrown by the recipe calling for 2 packages of yeast for just 1-1/2 cups of flour, however I followed the recipe as written. The only thing I did any differently was to add a little black olive and spicy pickled pepper strips to the top of the pizza prior to baking. Makes a nice deep dish crust and bakes like a pie. If your yeast handicapped, this won't hurt to make since you don't have to do anything but mix, pat down and place in the oven to bake!

Quick and Flavorful Vegetables

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2012
I personally wish I had not read reviews prior to making this. Because I did, I was afraid the recipe would be too salty. Quite the contrary. I roasted asparagus and mushrooms with olive oil and fresh thyme. I did not season the vegetables because I felt seasoning them would cause them to be too strong. I will make this again, will not season my veggies, but instead of 1 packet, I will go ahead and use the two packets the recipe calls for. This is a case of not following the instructions and paying for it by not having as flavorful a dish as I may have had if I had made the recipe as stated.

Butterscotch Haystacks

These aren't the prettiest cookies in the jar, but they sure are tasty! They are quick and easy and yummy. That savory factor from the chow mein noodles mixed with the sweet is crave-able!

Harvest Pumpkin-Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2013
Love these cookies. Love how soft they were. I used chopped pecans and golden raisins since that is what I had on hand. I also didn't have quite enough pumpkin (I've been cooking with pumpkin a lot and didn't realize I was so low!) so I had to use about half a cup of applesauce to replace it. They were excellent - however I have a feeling that I will enjoy them even more with all pumpkin!

RITZ Spicy Asian Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2014
Oh a DEFINITE keeper! I made these for dinner and since it was just two of us I went with chicken legs. I skipped the frying because the chicken legs were pretty big in my opinion to do that - but followed the recipe to a T and instead, baked at 375 degrees until done (about 35-40 minutes). Before baking I did spray with some cooking spray. If I were to make the wings themselves I would follow the recipe. However, the legs were crispy skin (just look at the photo!) and man, the skin, that was almost the best part of the recipe (with the sauce of course!)

No Sugar Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2014
I first had these cookies when our intern made them and brought them into the office. I loved them! After baking them myself, I realize it reminds me a little bit of baked oatmeal, but they are really good when your watching your calorie/carb/sugar intake. I didn't use raisins, instead I used dark chocolate chips and I didn't have applesauce but I did have apple butter that my mom had made so I went with that. Great recipe for those cravings and you aren't killing your diet!

Venison Stroganoff

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2005
My husband loved this! I unfortunately could not eat it as I had to be on a totally fat free diet and did not have fat free soup or sour cream in the house. I'm looking forward to trying it myself in the future!

I brought this to work and everyone just loved it. The only change I made was I used chopped walnuts because I didn't have pecans. It was still very yummy! The sauce is SO good!

I would have to say that this will become the one I make all the time. These cookies turned out awesome. They have great taste and are not CRUNCHY. Hubby will love these! I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of using M&M's instead of chocolate chips. YUMMMY!!!!!

Very yummy. Have made as written in the past, but for Christmas I subbed a Tbsp of Kaluha for the vanilla flavoring. I like it that way even better!

Venison Fajitas

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2008
UPDATE** I made these tonight and without the mistake! This is an awesome recipe I will keep on using. The venison was so tender and the heat was perfect. I did add mushrooms to the pepper and onion mixture. I will make these again, but I will be more careful when measuring! I made a mistake and used too much cayenne. My sons were able to eat it, but the oldest mouth was burning! Grumpy "grumped" because he hates that "mexican food" but he ate it anyway. These get 5 stars because I loved them and my youngest son loved them - even with too much heat! My oldest son would have liked them more if I hadn't messed up the cayenne....
