Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2007
I would have to say that this will become the one I make all the time. These cookies turned out awesome. They have great taste and are not CRUNCHY. Hubby will love these! I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of using M&M's instead of chocolate chips. YUMMMY!!!!!

Valentino's Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2007
I don't know who Valentino is, but I do know this is the exact recipe I have always used myself....and I didn't get it from here! However, it is a very good recipe, turns out great every time.

Slow Cooker Swiss Steak

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2007
One word - AWESOME. My diced tomatoes I had in the pantry had basil & oregano in them and instead of beef I used venison. Otherwise, made exactly as stated. Served over rice for hubby. I ate with a slice of bread since I can't eat rice. Very delish! Will be making it again

Nana's Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2007
Ok, 4 stars because I made changes and I think I would not have liked it without the changes. I mixed in 1/2 cup sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon with the apples (the apples were very very tart). I then used brown sugar in the topping instead of white sugar. I just have never heard of white sugar in a crisp topping! It was really good - and not too sweet at all.

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2007
4 stars because I made some changes...however with my changes, I give it 5 stars! I couldn't bring myself to use chicken broth - I have never heard of chicken broth in scalloped potatoes - and no milk? So, I used skim milk instead of chicken broth. I did use everything else called for and also added 2 cups diced ham (hubby won't eat scalloped potatoes without ham). This was so delish with my changes, I believe the mayonaisse made a difference and am glad that I didn't deter from using it.

Savory Crescent Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2007
I give it 5 stars with my modifications but 4 stars as is...I omit the pimentos. Add sauteed mushrooms and garlic. Instead of croutons I sprinkle the top with Italian Bread Crumbs.

Cream Puff Shells

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2007
Came out perfectly but had to only give 4 stars because there is one direction missing - you are supposed to let the dough sit for 10 minutes after the mixture stirs into a ball. THEN add the eggs - one at a time. I made some mini cream puffs and some regular sized ones. The mini ones I filled with whipped cream (sweetened) and the larger ones with a homemade vanilla pudding.

Mango Lassi II

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2007
I have to cut the sugar some depending on the sweetness of the mango. Today's mango was really sweet & ripe so I didn't need as much sugar as called for. It is all a matter of taste. This is a great recipe. I love it because I can store what I don't drink in the fridge and it is good the next day also.

Chicken Wing Dip

I used 1c franks red hot and 1c blue cheese instead of 3/4 cup. We like the tang of blue cheese, ranch is too mild for us.

Curry-Coconut Shrimp

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2007
1/2 cup of coconut milk was not enough and I did NOT need to use the cornstartch. If I had, then it would have been way too thick. This tasted good...just not made exactly as written. UPDATE: I made this tonight and the general consensus is there needs to be more sauce. I used 2 tsp of sugar instead to suit our taste, hubby thought it was too spicy I thought it was just right. Next time I will cut the red pepper and double the sauce.
