Easy Decadent Truffles

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2007
The flavor is good, but they were too hard after sitting in the fridge, then too soft after sitting out a while. We like the Eagle Brand Chocolate Truffles much better.

Chocolate Truffles

We loved these. Used different flavorings (liquors) and rolled in cocoa powder, chopped nuts, and conf. sugar.

Pretty good! Even better after sitting a day. Grumpy gave it a 5 star. We will be having this again. Followed recipe as written.

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
I went thru other reviews and I just do not understand why I seem to be the only one who's potatoes scorched in my pan! I believe the temp of 400 must be too hot. My range is brand new, and everything else I have been baking seems just fine - nothing is over or underbaked. If it weren't for the fact I believe the temp is too high, I would have given this 5 stars because after I took the potatoes what did not harden on the bottom of the pan out, it was tasty.

Double Chocolate Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2007
These are sweeter than the Brownie Biscotti, however, they are yummy! I've eaten 3 already and need to stop! I used mini semi sweet chips as that is what I had and I chopped my baker's white chocolate bars as the recipe stated. I'm becoming the biscotti queen, I want to keep on making them and not stop! lol

Pecan Tassies

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2007
Only thing I do different is I use real butter. I never use margarine. This is a real crowd pleaser. I have subbed walnuts in the past and have made mini pumpkin pies out of these also.

Orange Cranberry Biscotti

Absolutely yummy. I will make these often! I too used orange juice as I did not have the orange liquor.

Butter Rich Spritz Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
These have good flavor. I ommited the salt as the butter I had to use was salted butter. I used green food color to make wreaths in my cookie press and placed two cinnamon hots on the wreath for decoration. I am not sure why I have such a problem with the cookie press, but it is a struggle for me to press these out. I have a pampered chef press - so I really believe it is me because my press is very good quality! I guess in the long run it is worth the time it takes me to press these out, but I only make them once a year anyway....

Brownie Biscotti

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
My first time ever making biscotti. They turned out wonderfully - even though I was in so much of a hurry I totally forgot the egg wash. I dont believe it made much of a difference and I'm not sure of the reason for the egg wash? Anyway, will be dipping these in white chocolate and putting in our cookie jar to have with our tea/coffee!

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
This is the only recipe I make for stuffing. My mother made this when I was little (she got the recipe from a crockpot cookbook that came with her crockpot). Using fresh mushrooms is key in yumminess! Everyone always raves about the stuffing when done this way.

Buttery Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
This is the same recipe I have always used that came with my bread machine cookbook. The milk and butter are what makes these rolls so soft and tender and yummy! We had these yesterday for thanksgiving dinner and they are always a hit for those who love their breads!

Granny Kat's Pumpkin Roll

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2007
Turned out wonderfully. I don't see where people thought the directions were confusing - unless your a beginning cook - they are quite understandable to me. I use cheesecloth sprinkled with confectioner's sugar always when rolling, it works perfectly.

Spicy Orange Beef

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2007
Hubby said that the orange was way too strong and it made the entire dish bitter. Won't be making this again. :-(

Clone of a Cinnabon

Halved the recipe as the whole recipe is too much for just two of us in the home. This is a really good recipe and I will make this one often. I love the dough is made in the bread machine!

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2007
Awesome recipe. The pork chops are so tender. I didn't have white wine (but will use it next time!) so I subbed chicken broth. I also did not need to bake for the full hour, however, it would not have hurt it any. Served with mashed potatoes and butternut squash.

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2007
I would give this 5 stars if the flavors absorbed more into the chicken. Otherwise, this was quite good. Followed the recipe as written, however I only cooked 2 large (pounded out) chicken breasts and made the regular amount of sauce.

Favorite Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2007
These taste EXCELLENT! I made them w/out nuts as a friend who would be eating them cannot have nuts. However, I believe the nuts would put these cookies over the edge and would make them the best I've ever had for a chocolate cookie with white chips! I baked for exactly 10 minutes - perfect timing.

Cranberry Upside-Down Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2007
This was good. I have made one similar though that did not have cinnamon in it. I like the one without cinnamon better. However, the texture of this cake is light - not heavy & dense at all. Overall, a good recipe. Just probably not my personal favorite.
