Naan

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2008
Very good - I cooked on my GF Grill with lid DOWN. Worked great! I will make again, but when Grumpy isn't home - to go with whatever other Indian food I may want to try!

Creamy Hot Cocoa

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2008
I didn't have whole milk, I had skim. I think it would have been too rich with the whole milk anyway (for me at least!). I only made one serving, so I did not follow the directions exactly. I stirred up the dry ingredients in a mug, then whipped the hot water into it until well blended. I then whipped the skim milk and half and half in. Microwaved until hot and served with whipped cream (from a can). YUMM! A nice Sunday afternoon indulgence!

Venison Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2008
Very good. I didn't have dried cilantro, but since it's in parsley family, I decided it would be ok to substitute it with dried parsley. It took closer to an hour for mine to be completely cooked. I do like how the meatloaf tastes...for venison, you wouldn't really KNOW it was venison.

Chicken Tikka Masala

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2008
This was spicy, with just 1 tsp of cayenne! I have had Chicken Tikka Masala in Indian Resturaunts and it is NOT as spicy as this one is. We could barely eat it. Probably won't bother to make it again. I'll go out for my Indian food.

Venison Fajitas

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2008
UPDATE** I made these tonight and without the mistake! This is an awesome recipe I will keep on using. The venison was so tender and the heat was perfect. I did add mushrooms to the pepper and onion mixture. I will make these again, but I will be more careful when measuring! I made a mistake and used too much cayenne. My sons were able to eat it, but the oldest mouth was burning! Grumpy "grumped" because he hates that "mexican food" but he ate it anyway. These get 5 stars because I loved them and my youngest son loved them - even with too much heat! My oldest son would have liked them more if I hadn't messed up the cayenne....

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2008
People raved over this! I did not use the butter to roast the almonds, I didn't feel I needed to add the extra fat. I had to pass the recipe out to many people!

Crab Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2008
I waited until this morning to rate as I wanted to give time for the flavors to blend. I will admit I was worried about how sweet it would be because of the sugar. DO put it in! It is not sweet at all. I think the Old Bay is what makes this recipe. I wouldn't leave it out. If you don't have it - go get it! This is definetly a keeper.

Chicken Cordon Bleu I

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
When I opened my swiss cheese - it was moldy - so I had to sub provolone. Turned out awesome. I also drizzled melted butter overtop the rolls before baking.

EAGLE BRAND® Chocolate Fondue

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2007
Very yummy. Have made as written in the past, but for Christmas I subbed a Tbsp of Kaluha for the vanilla flavoring. I like it that way even better!

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
I'm giving this 5 stars because I believe if I had enough oatmeal, these would have been perfect. I didn't have quite enough oatmeal so they were thin. I also subbed raisins for the chocolate chips as hubby doesn't care for the chocolate in oatmeal cookies.

Stuffed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
This was good. I think it needed more flavor though. Maybe some onion powder? It just seemed kind of bland. I would try it again and make some adjustments in seasoning.

Spinach Dip I

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2007
This is delish! I am a "fresh" over "frozen" veggie person - so I steamed a bag of fresh spinach instead to mix in. Served in a rye bread boat with fresh cut carrots, califlower, broccoli & celery sticks. Also put the bread that was cut out of the bowl on the side for people to dip. Went over very well!

Savory Glazed Meatballs

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2007
4 stars because I didn't follow the recipe exactly. I used italian bread crumbs, baked the meatballs, and venison instead of beef. Very yummy. Made these for our Christmas party tomorrow.

Biscuit Pizza Bake

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
Absolutely delish! I didn't have green peppers, but if I had them, I would use them! I sauteed fresh mushrooms with the onion, added the meat mixture and let it cool. I didn't have pizza sauce so I used spaghetti sauce and ended up using a 24 oz jar. I think any less would not have been enough sauce. I used a mexican blend cheese, blended most of it with the casserole, then sprinkled some on top before baking. The recipe gets 4 stars because I believe it would have been too dry if I had not used the 24 oz jar of sauce. However, it taste wonderful and I will be making this again!

Peppermint Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
Made exactly as stated. I had a little problem with the peppermint melting onto the cookie sheet and I believe it should be divided into 3 smaller logs - there is a lot of dough with this recipe! This is why I gave it 4 stars.

Awesome cookie recipe. I didn't have plain chocolate kisses, just the hugs (grumpy likes hugs best). This is a keeper.

Easy Decadent Truffles

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2007
The flavor is good, but they were too hard after sitting in the fridge, then too soft after sitting out a while. We like the Eagle Brand Chocolate Truffles much better.
