Never in my life did I think I would drink booze in the AM.  ;)  Seriously!  LOL.  However, I decided I wanted to try making a Bloody Mary on my own.  My friend is a bartender and she was making this drink for people one night and let me try a little taste - and I realized it was good!  I came here to AR and found a Bloody Mary recipe.  I changed it a little and added some horseradish to the drink - and I loved it!  I love tomato juice and vodka is my choice for I don't know why I thought I wouldn't like this drink!  The AR version I followed is linked here.

Funny blog Honeybunch!! My hubby would always make me make him beer bloody Mary's for his hang unders. Fortunately, he stopped drinking except for the occasional date night drink and I don't have to play bartender anymore:) Go easy on them, they will sneak up on em, especially on a Hot summer day:) Love to you and yours! Hope all is well on your coast. Love, PC

Great to hear from you PattyCakes! I feel like I never have enough time anymore and don't get around as much as I used to. I would love to just work from home...would be SO ideal! :)

Hey GH. An odd thing. Up here in Canada, we have a tomato juice product called Clamato juice. It's a combo of clam and tomato and if you were to try it, you'd never have plain tomato juice again. The drink made with this is called a Caesar. Clamato and ice, vodka and tobasco in a season salt rimmed glass and finished with a stalk of celery. I never go to dinner without having one and oddly, despite buying the makings for them, I almost never make them at home. If you ever get the chance...

About Me
I am a home cook who works full time and have been a blogger on my own site, Grumpy's Honeybunch, since 2007. I love to experiment and create in the kitchen. Sometimes good, sometimes not so good, but always fun! My one place I am not the best at is the grill - and I leave that to Grumpy! Since I started using AR several years ago, my home life has changed a lot. We had to relocate for work purposes, My sons no longer live at home and its just Grumpy, me, and our 3 cats. I am a participant in the Allrecipes Allstar program and have had a great time with the challenges as well as the great people I have met through the Allstar program!
My favorite things to cook
I always was a baker but since I started blogging almost 5 years ago, I have also become a more experienced cook. We love pasta meals and especially Asian inspired meals. I love homemade candy although I'm not the best candy maker, I will still attempt it every so often. My very favorite sweet treat from this site is Brooke's Bombshell Brownies. I've taken the recipe and used it as a base to create several different brownie recipes, my favorite being "when life gets you down" brownie (chock full of Peanut Butter flavor) and a peanut butter caramel swirled brownie. Both recipes are on my blog
My favorite family cooking traditions
Summer fish frys at my aunt and uncles home. Homemade fudge and popcorn on Saturday nights while a child! When my boys were younger Friday night was homemade pizza and movie night and some of my most special memories are baking cookies with Nanny. I have every one of her "special" cookie recipes on file and when feeling nostalgia hit I will bake one of her recipes.
My cooking triumphs
My best compliment ever - a cheesecake I made was described to be "better than Juniors!" The pumpkin fudge recipe on this site that I reviewed at 5 stars....this is an awesome cooked fudge recipe. My son totally loves the fudge and so do I!
My cooking tragedies
Once when I was first married, I made fudge. It didn't set up and I was too embarrassed to tell my hubby, so I hid it in the closet (no idea WHY I did such a thing!) and ended up forgetting about it. We came across it one day cleaning and I had to fess up, he had more of a laugh because I tried to hide it!
