Eating in moderation

You can have your "brownie" and eat it too.  As long as you eat it in moderation.  After losing over 100 pounds, I have learned that you don't have to have as much as you think you need.  Sure, we all still love to eat and we all love what's not good for us, right?!  However, I have found that what is important in life is not how much of a good thing you can get, but that a little of a good thing is just as good.  These peppermint suprise brownie bites are just that.  A little bit of a good thing.  It makes an 8x8 pan of brownies and you cut them small enough that if you eat two your still not overeating!  Just don't eat the whole pan of brownies by yourself (in one sitting anyway!).  What good thing do you like to enjoy?

The recipe for Peppermint Suprise Brownie Bites can be found on The Life and Loves of Grumpy's Honeybunch.

Congrats on that weight loss! Everythime I make something sweet my husband asks me not to make it again so he won't be tempted to eat it. I miss brownies, these ones look great.

What a great accomplishment! I lost 35 pounds recently, but can't seem to drop any more. I'm not a big sweets eater, but I do love to make them!

It's never easy task to lose 100 lbs., way to go! I have lost 30-40 lbs. three times in my life... after each of my two children and after the renovation of a house (stress and eating out did it). I have managed to maintain my weight for the past 5 years, just how you said. I don't deprive myself of treats, but I watch my portions. Your brownies look really good... and I love peppermint patties, so I will definitely have to give these a try. Thanks for the recipe!!

I've maintained a 65 lb weight loss for almost 4 years now. There are always those days when a treat is much needed. Keep up the good work. Thanks for the snack idea.

About Me
I am a home cook who works full time and have been a blogger on my own site, Grumpy's Honeybunch, since 2007. I love to experiment and create in the kitchen. Sometimes good, sometimes not so good, but always fun! My one place I am not the best at is the grill - and I leave that to Grumpy! Since I started using AR several years ago, my home life has changed a lot. We had to relocate for work purposes, My sons no longer live at home and its just Grumpy, me, and our 3 cats. I am a participant in the Allrecipes Allstar program and have had a great time with the challenges as well as the great people I have met through the Allstar program!
My favorite things to cook
I always was a baker but since I started blogging almost 5 years ago, I have also become a more experienced cook. We love pasta meals and especially Asian inspired meals. I love homemade candy although I'm not the best candy maker, I will still attempt it every so often. My very favorite sweet treat from this site is Brooke's Bombshell Brownies. I've taken the recipe and used it as a base to create several different brownie recipes, my favorite being "when life gets you down" brownie (chock full of Peanut Butter flavor) and a peanut butter caramel swirled brownie. Both recipes are on my blog
My favorite family cooking traditions
Summer fish frys at my aunt and uncles home. Homemade fudge and popcorn on Saturday nights while a child! When my boys were younger Friday night was homemade pizza and movie night and some of my most special memories are baking cookies with Nanny. I have every one of her "special" cookie recipes on file and when feeling nostalgia hit I will bake one of her recipes.
My cooking triumphs
My best compliment ever - a cheesecake I made was described to be "better than Juniors!" The pumpkin fudge recipe on this site that I reviewed at 5 stars....this is an awesome cooked fudge recipe. My son totally loves the fudge and so do I!
My cooking tragedies
Once when I was first married, I made fudge. It didn't set up and I was too embarrassed to tell my hubby, so I hid it in the closet (no idea WHY I did such a thing!) and ended up forgetting about it. We came across it one day cleaning and I had to fess up, he had more of a laugh because I tried to hide it!
