We are big shrimp eaters in our home.  We love it grilled, we love it in pasta, we love it especially in the Honey Walnut Shrimp recipe here on AR.  That recipe is Grumpy's very favorite one.  However, for the most part, I try to keep it healthy so the Honey Walnut Shrimp is a special occasion treat here!

I had been thinking about trying my hand at making my own homemade Caesar Salad Dressing.  I tried a recipe with a coddled egg but after making the dressing that way, I personally could not eat it.  My tummy couldn't take what my brain was telling me - that there was basically a raw egg in my dressing.  So, I went on a hunt and found a recipe on Gourmet that called for mayonnaise instead!  Oh, I loved this dressing!  It was tangy and delicious.  To make the dish a main dish for our dinner I grilled some shrimp also - a simple and basic recipe from Ellie Kreiger.

What foods do you enjoy eating out that you have created in your home?

That looks good! My husband isn't a huge shrimp guy, but this looks worth a try...it could be lunch for me for a few days at the very least! Thanks for sharing...

About Me
I am a home cook who works full time and have been a blogger on my own site, Grumpy's Honeybunch, since 2007. I love to experiment and create in the kitchen. Sometimes good, sometimes not so good, but always fun! My one place I am not the best at is the grill - and I leave that to Grumpy! Since I started using AR several years ago, my home life has changed a lot. We had to relocate for work purposes, My sons no longer live at home and its just Grumpy, me, and our 3 cats. I am a participant in the Allrecipes Allstar program and have had a great time with the challenges as well as the great people I have met through the Allstar program!
My favorite things to cook
I always was a baker but since I started blogging almost 5 years ago, I have also become a more experienced cook. We love pasta meals and especially Asian inspired meals. I love homemade candy although I'm not the best candy maker, I will still attempt it every so often. My very favorite sweet treat from this site is Brooke's Bombshell Brownies. I've taken the recipe and used it as a base to create several different brownie recipes, my favorite being "when life gets you down" brownie (chock full of Peanut Butter flavor) and a peanut butter caramel swirled brownie. Both recipes are on my blog grumpyshoneybunch.com.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Summer fish frys at my aunt and uncles home. Homemade fudge and popcorn on Saturday nights while a child! When my boys were younger Friday night was homemade pizza and movie night and some of my most special memories are baking cookies with Nanny. I have every one of her "special" cookie recipes on file and when feeling nostalgia hit I will bake one of her recipes.
My cooking triumphs
My best compliment ever - a cheesecake I made was described to be "better than Juniors!" The pumpkin fudge recipe on this site that I reviewed at 5 stars....this is an awesome cooked fudge recipe. My son totally loves the fudge and so do I!
My cooking tragedies
Once when I was first married, I made fudge. It didn't set up and I was too embarrassed to tell my hubby, so I hid it in the closet (no idea WHY I did such a thing!) and ended up forgetting about it. We came across it one day cleaning and I had to fess up, he had more of a laugh because I tried to hide it!
