Just when I think I know him, Grumpy surprises me.  Like with these scones.  Grumpy won't eat biscuits.  Well, Grumpy prefers to not eat biscuits. So, since these scones are like biscuits I didn't expect him to really like them.  I made the scones, kept one for me, left one at home for Grumpy and took the rest to work to give to a friend who was having a birthday.

Later that evening when I was home I asked Grumpy if he liked his scone.  He said yes, it was good.  Hmmm.  What was up with that I thought?  I decided to take his word for it and make them again on Saturday morning but halved the recipe since I didn't want 8 scones here in the house and just two of us eating.  I didn't see him eat his first scone, but Sunday morning, when he sat down with his coffee, he had a plate with a scone on it to go with his coffee!  Hmm, must be he wasn't just placating me!  LOL.

The recipe for these yummy scones is at The Life & Loves of Grumpy's Honeybunch

That looks really good. I've never thought to make scones. I made some aniseed biscotti with my xmas cookie batches that I gifted to people. So yummy looking.

About Me
I am a home cook who works full time and have been a blogger on my own site, Grumpy's Honeybunch, since 2007. I love to experiment and create in the kitchen. Sometimes good, sometimes not so good, but always fun! My one place I am not the best at is the grill - and I leave that to Grumpy! Since I started using AR several years ago, my home life has changed a lot. We had to relocate for work purposes, My sons no longer live at home and its just Grumpy, me, and our 3 cats. I am a participant in the Allrecipes Allstar program and have had a great time with the challenges as well as the great people I have met through the Allstar program!
My favorite things to cook
I always was a baker but since I started blogging almost 5 years ago, I have also become a more experienced cook. We love pasta meals and especially Asian inspired meals. I love homemade candy although I'm not the best candy maker, I will still attempt it every so often. My very favorite sweet treat from this site is Brooke's Bombshell Brownies. I've taken the recipe and used it as a base to create several different brownie recipes, my favorite being "when life gets you down" brownie (chock full of Peanut Butter flavor) and a peanut butter caramel swirled brownie. Both recipes are on my blog grumpyshoneybunch.com.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Summer fish frys at my aunt and uncles home. Homemade fudge and popcorn on Saturday nights while a child! When my boys were younger Friday night was homemade pizza and movie night and some of my most special memories are baking cookies with Nanny. I have every one of her "special" cookie recipes on file and when feeling nostalgia hit I will bake one of her recipes.
My cooking triumphs
My best compliment ever - a cheesecake I made was described to be "better than Juniors!" The pumpkin fudge recipe on this site that I reviewed at 5 stars....this is an awesome cooked fudge recipe. My son totally loves the fudge and so do I!
My cooking tragedies
Once when I was first married, I made fudge. It didn't set up and I was too embarrassed to tell my hubby, so I hid it in the closet (no idea WHY I did such a thing!) and ended up forgetting about it. We came across it one day cleaning and I had to fess up, he had more of a laugh because I tried to hide it!
