Simple, easy, and very very good! This turned out fudgy and thick and so fast. I even forgot the vanilla and its still great. Next time I'll put in the vanilla and I believe this is the basic easy hot fudge recipe that I can experiment with. I suppose you could add an extract of another flavor and it would be awesome if you like that sort of thing. Also- I think any 4 oz's of chocolate will do. I had to improvise. I had two squares of unsweetened baker's chocolate and so I also added about the equivalent of two more squares of chocolate (I had nestle's swirled white/dark choc chips). I figured that added the bit of sweetness that the unsweetened squares lacked. I love this easy recipe. I'm printing it off to tape onto the inside of one of my cabinets. That's where I tape a select few good, basic recipes that I use.
