I have been making this exact recipe for years. It is a favorite of my family's, at reunions, at church functions and for bake sales. The only difference in my recipe is that I half the batter and bake in 2 9x13 pans. 2 cakes are better than 1. I usually put them in the freezer, too...and we'll take out and eat immediately or let thaw out. Or you can just put in "fridge" and eat in a day or so. It's good as soon as you make it, but seems like setting a day or 2 makes it even better. Great with ice cream.
