Mindy's Berry Nice Smoothie

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
Good, just wanted to note that wheat germ doesn't have a bitter aftertaste, it has a nutty sweet taste. If it tastes at all bitter that means it's gone rancid. Hope that helps anyone.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2009
These tasted salty and had a bitter aftertaste. I Made it exactly as written other than I added more flour at the end to thicken. Will use my regular recipe which, oddly enough, requires less sugar and more baking powder.

Groovie Smoothie

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2006
The best strawberry banana smoothie I've tried so far. I used strawberry banana yogurt and added wheat germ and honey, very good. I usually make two servings for me because some put it as 8oz serving sizes, this one is definitely two tall servings.

Banana Smoothie I

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2006
I didn't add the egg. I added wheat germ. Honey in place of the sugar, and a frozen banana. I was unhappy with how thin it was. It was barely thicker than milk itself. I thought it tasted pretty good though. Update::: I made this again doubling the banana and it was a better consistency. I also added some yogurt- and used nutmeg instead of cinnamon on top. Yum

Triple Threat Fruit Smoothie

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2006
I didn't have kiwi and my ratio of blueberries and strawberres were flipped because I didn't have many strawberries left. I used frozen fruits and omitted the ice. I had to add a little more OJ to get it to blend. I also added wheat germ and honey. This is the best recipe I've tried and I've been trying a different smoothie recipe everyday for the past 2 months. I can't wait to try the exact recipe when I get the fruits on hand.

Orange Smoothie

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2006
I'm surprised this has so many good reviews. For me it separated with the slushy milk part on top and the OJ on the bottom, I drank it right away so it didn't sit around or anything. I tried stirring it but it didn't work out well, ended up not finishing it.

Mrs. Sigg's Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2006
To my surprise I ended up liking a different recipe that only requires three ingredients better. I increased the pb, but I felt there wasn't enough of a peanut butter taste. They were still good to eat though.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2006
These were great, however, there was a coppery taste to them. I think it may have been the cream of tartar? That kind of ruined it for me. They were great up until that aftertaste.

Peanut Butter and Banana Smoothie

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2006
Good, but not as cold as I like my smoothies. I usually use frozen fruits, but I hadn't froze the bananas yet. I would recommend using frozen bananas. I added wheat germ. Edited to add: I tried this again with some oatmeal and chocolate syrup (omitted the honey) and wow was that yummy.

Barbara's Golden Pound Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2006
It was very good. I didn't have the lemon extract so I used 1 TBL lemon zest and juice. The glaze ingredients must be a typo because 1 TBL lemon juice wasn't enough, I needed a bit more. The glaze tasted great, but overpowered the cake making it seem plain. Next time I'll use the extract and see if that works better.

California Smoothie

I only had plain yogurt so I added about a tsp of lemonade mix. I also added a bit of honey and wheat germ which I add to every smoothie I make. Yummy!

Vegetable Fried Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2006
I wasn't too happy with this. I felt it was bland. I added sliced mushrooms and I didn't have baby peas so I left those out. I also used sesame oil for the peanut oil because it was all I had on hand. Still, I ate it all and the leftovers also.

Fabulous Wet Burritos

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2006
Wow this is excellent. My husband and I really liked the sauce. I only did two things differently. I used garlic salt instead of garlic, because I seasoned my meat my usual way (salt pepper, garlic salt) before I realized there was garlic to be added. DH doesn't like tomatoes but he likes salsa so I used salsa in place of the tomatoes topping the meat mixture. Very good, will make again!

Fantastic Black Bean Chili

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2006
Very good. I used diced tomatoes with garlic, oregano and basil, so I cut down on the basil and oregano. I used 2 TBL chili powder, 1 tsp cumin. Added red pepper flakes, salt and pepper and a pinch of sugar. Lastly used a can of mexican corn inplace of one of the cans of beans since dh doesn't care for beans much. The consistency was perfect not to thick not to runny. DH loved it also. Served with cornbread and topped with cheese and sour cream. Yummy!

Chicken Enchiladas I

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2006
This was pretty good. I had a jar of Taco sauce on hand so I made this. I halved the recipe and put it in an 8x8 pan. It was really simple to make. Next time I'll use enchilada sauce instead.

Angel Hair Pasta Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2006
I made this a while back but forgot to review. We really liked this, I had to substitute green beans for the broccoli but it was very yummy. I cooked the pasta in chicken broth and seasoned my chicken the way I like them so I think that really helped with the flavor.

This was okay, I felt like it was missing something I'm not sure what though. It wasn't very appetizing looking. Probably won't make again.
