Turkey Cheeseburger Meatloaf

Loved it. I used regular bacon and a bit less since I only had 4 slices left. I didn't use the glaze and instead used open pit sweet style bbq sauce. It was a hit. Thanks for the recipe! I really think I'll make it this way everytime. That's saying a lot from someone who is always searching for better recipes.

Apple Squares

I love these so much I've made them 3 times in the past two weeks. I used pumpkin pie spice since I was out of cinnamon and I don't put the sugar topping on. Without out it it's easy to grab a piece with your hand and eat it.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies IV

Yum ! This is your classic oatmeal cookie. Crisp edges chewy middles. Some said it was flat mine may have been, but they looked like the traditional oatmeal cookie which is a bit flat I suppose, but still delicious. I added salt and didn't add the nuts.

French Breakfast Muffins

I filled the tins half full and it only made 9 muffins the dough is very thick like cookie dough. Someone mentioned pouring and they must have added quite a bit more milk because I had to use two spoons to scrape the batter into the tins. Changes I made were using oil instead of butter in the mix and sprinkling the cinnamon sugar over the tops before baking. The picture is very misleading, they don't rise up smooth and tall. They are short lumpy and have a texture like scones. They taste good for a scone anyway.

Soft Sugar Cookies IV

I really liked these. It tasted like roll out cookies without the frosting and a bit sweeter, the salt is noticeable, like a salted caramel kind of. So every now and then you bite into a grain of salt when you're eating the cookie. My daughter said it was the best sugar cookie she has ever had.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Wow, I am surprised at how good this is, I suppose I should have anticipated it with the reviews, but it is very yummy. I had no trouble with the sauce and wonder if others are using the flour called for and letting it simmer until thickened? It didn't pour over while baking and is the perfect sauce not runny at all. I did sprinkle cinnamon on my apples before putting the top crust on as personal preference. I made this again and both times there was a lack of the apple pie baking smell. The glaze over the crust darkens quickly and causes a burning smell instead, so I decided to dock one star for that.

Eggplant Parmesan II

This was good, but I had some trouble with the directions. I was thinking the sauce would be layered with the eggplant like a lasagna so when I saw that there weren't specific directions for layering the sauce I decided to layer it anyway because it seemed odd to just have the sauce at the bottom and the eggplant pieces layered with cheese by themselves.

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Everyone loved this. The directions did not say if the tomatoes were meant to be drained or not, unless I missed it somewhere. I left them undrained since I saw some reviews were saying the vinegar taste is strong. It was delicious. I am making it again tonight because my daughter chose it for her dinner day.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

This is very good, though I used vinegar and milk in place of the buttermilk. It ended up bubbling up quite a bit when I added the baking soda. I was never good in chemistry so I don't know if that means they cancelled out? It was still yummy.

Mini Ham And Cheese Rolls

I tried this as is and I liked it. I made it again using a honey mustard base while putting the majority of the filling inside and spreading some over the top which I ended up preferring. My BIG tip is to slice all 12 rolls while they are stuck together, I used hawaiian sweet rolls. Just take the whole group of the 12 and slice through the whole thing horizontally then you have two halves. Put the bottom half in a foil-lined pan then lay your ham and cheese over the top and then top it with the top half, when it comes out of the oven lift out the whole thing out using the foil then cut them into sandwiches on the marks. Very quick and easy that way!

Syracuse Salt Potatoes

I grew up in central ny and have had this often. They are definitely different from regular boiled potatoes. Regular boiled potatoes get soggy and bland inside and mushy. Salt potatoes get a crispy skin and creamy inside. Let them sit after draining until they dry and get that thin salt film over the tops. The size should be small enough to eat the whole potato in one big full bite, and all around the same size. Don't bother with the recipe if they are medium sized because the point of salt potatoes is lost when you cut them to eat it. The way to enjoy them is to dip them in a little butter and eat the whole thing right off the fork. No cutting or mashing.

Simple White Cake

I tried this after trying a taste of home recipe that ended up tasting like cornbread. After reading some reviews I saw that no-one has mentioned that this is not a white cake. White cakes use egg whites. I used three egg whites in place of the 2 eggs. Other than that I followed it exactly.

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

These cookies are amazing. Seriously stop-close-your-eyes-savor-the-bite amazing. I made these in a regular muffin tin, and a bit larger in size, but they still turned out well. My oven cooks hot so after 5 1/2 mins they were done and one batch even browned a bit on the bottom, but still delicious.

Easy Mexican Casserole

The family liked it. I used plain greek yogurt instead of the sour cream. I didn't care for the chips on the bottom as they were hard and dry. I am making it again using corn tortillas so we will see how that will turn out. Otherwise it was very good.
