Classic Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2013
I made the recipe just about exactly as stated. I did add the optional carrots. I used red bell pepper instead of the green because that's what I had on hand. I added cut up hard boiled eggs. I've never made macaroni salad with the sugar and vinegar because it didn't sound good. Those two items were the key!!! This was the best macaroni salad I've ever made or had. It wasn't too sweet like I saw on some reviews. It was great! Everyone in my family loved it. Note- Make sure you put it in the frig for the 4 hours like it states. When you make it and mix it together it will be very runny. I thought I messed up the recipe. After the 4 hours in the frig is was perfect!

Kelsey's Cheesy Bacon Breasts

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2013
Everyone in my house liked this recipe. I only had enough bacon to put a half of a strip on each chicken breast. I think it needed the whole strip. Next time I would cut the baking time by about 5 minutes or cut time in the pan. I was just worried about the chicken cooking all the way through because my chicken breasts were thick. It wasn't dry but we weren't able to cut it with a fork like some of the other reviews. I had to make my own bbq sauce last minute because I thought I had some but no. We will definitely be adding it to our dinner rotation.

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2013
My family loved this recipe. I followed it exactly except for the ginger root, which I didn't have. I added 1 teaspoon of ground ginger instead. I used Sriracha Chili Sauce(rooster on bottle) for the hot sauce and it was spicy! We wanted more of the sauce so next time I will double the sauce. Mine was sweet and spicy, not too sticky but GREAT! We served over white rice and had some veggies on the side. We will definitely be making again.

Easy Turkey Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2012
I should have read the reviews before I made it and added the extra can of creamy soup. I didn't have the mushrooms and I substituted cream of mushroom soup for the cream of celery. I added a little onion powder and garlic powder. I didn't have the egg noodles so I used penne noodles. Overall it was pretty good. Next time I will saute some onions to add to the recipe also. My nonturkey eaters even ate it.

Rich Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2012
I scaled it down for 8 servings because I only had 12 cupcakes to frost. It was delicious!!! I will definitely make it again.

Sarah's Banana Bread Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2011
The best banana bread recipe ever! We don't like walnuts so I didn't add them. We baked in muffin tins with the foil muffin wrappers. They were so moist and delicious. Everyone loved them! For something a little extra we added mini chocolate chips to a batch and they were very good too.

Cinnamon Rolls II

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2011
I this was my 18 year old daughter's first attempt at making homemade cinnamon rolls. She followed the recipe exactly but they didn't come out that well. I did give it three stars because after I notced the yeast was expired, which could have been the proble, but they still should have tasted good. Not sure. We will try again.

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2011
I think this is a good, easy, basic recipe for meatloaf. I shared it with my brother who isn't much of a cook and he was able to make it and loved it. You can always get more complicated and add things or sub things. I like the rawness of the onions. I also liked the sweet glaze. I did add a few shakes of worshire sauce.

Family-Style French Toast

Reviewed: May 22, 2011
My family loved it. The only difference was I had to double the brown sugar and butter. Otherwise, there wouldn't been enough for all the bread. I also added a teaspoon of vanilla.

Italian Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
I used chicken breasts with the bone and marinated for 24 hours. I baked the chicken but it was dry without much flavor. I don't think I will make again.

Picante Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2010
I think this is a good, easy recipe. The only difference I did was top with some shredded chedar cheese. Cooking the pace picante sauce gives it a little different flavor. Its very good.

I used a little more than 4 pounds of potatoes, only used 5 tablespoons of butter and a little more cheese. It was good. Might make again.

Nothing spectacular but it was good. I used Frank's hot sauce and marinated for a couple of hours. It wasn't hot at all.

Easy Sour Cream Cheesecake

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2010
I had to use up some sour cream and cream cheese before it went bad in my frig and I found this recipe. I didn't have a cheesecake pan so I had to use two pie pans. The batter was too much for one pie pan. I made a homemade graham cracker crust because I didn't have the shortbread. The cheesecake was alright. I thought it would be better with all these good reviews. I will just stick with an original new york style cheesecake next time.

I made this recipe and used half ketchup and half bbq sauce like some of the other reviews but I think it just tasted way too bland, like it was missing something.

Candied Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2007
This was the first time I made sweet potatoes. I microwaved them like some of the other reviewers instead of the oven. (turkey was taking up the oven) I never liked sweet potatoes but these were pretty good. I will make again. Not overly sweet- perfect.

All Day Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2007
I did read all the reviews. I made it just like the recipe said but used uncooked noodles which I'm glad I did. The taste was pretty good. But after like 2 hours the edges were getting burnt and it was pretty much one big blob of macaroni and cheese. It didn't look very appetizing. I couldn't imagine using cooked noodles- even bigger blob. My daughter wouldn't even try it.

Pretty good crust since I didn't have shortning and this recipe used butter. I used a little less than stated because that's all I had. I would use more sugar next time and a whole egg.

Hot Artichoke Dip

Very good! I used light mayonaise because that's all I had and it was still good. I prefer it without the pimentos. Great anytime.
