One thing to note is that I have not tried the option of putting it on low for 8 hours. I followed the recipe exactly, but set it on high for 4 hours as recommended by the recipe.
The result was the most tough, chewy, and inedible piece of beef I've ever had. After a lot of googling as to how this happened, basically the "high" setting cooked it too high too fast and the connective tissue couldn't melt properly resulting in an inedible dish. If you are going to cook this recipe, PUT IT ON LOW.
Regardless of that, the sauce was a bit boring. There was no taste besides mushrooms. A bit bland and boring.
