Roasted Portobello Mushrooms with Blue Cheese

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2007
This recipe is a fabulously simple idea. I did it a little differently, brushing the mushroom caps with garlic butter and letting it bake in the oven that way, then doing the blue cheese bit. It was so delicious, and yet so uncomplicated to prepare. Great flavour combination - the melted blue cheese is just enough to give it some kick.

Cranberry Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2007
This recipe was delicious; not too sweet, not too tart. I think I did something wrong because mine was very, very liquid after the suggested cooking time (plus some), but even then it tasted magnificent. A couple of days later it had solidified a lot and was even better. Does anyone know what could have gone wrong? The cranberries just seemed to meld with the liquid mixture and create a soup-like filling...

Easily the best cookies I've ever made! I used half milk chocolate chips and half semi-sweet chocolate chunks.... divine!

Apple Crumble Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2006
I used 1/2 cup brown sugar for the flour mixture topping, as suggested by other reviewers, and LOTS of cinnamon, and it was *fantastic*... this was the best crumble I've ever had!

Potato Potluck Dish

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2005
This was okay... kind of bland for my tastes, and waaay too much sauce. If I make it again, I'll use more potato, more spices, and more cheese. Also, it took longer than 45 minutes for me... about 1 hour, and I had to put it under the grill.

Vegetarian Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2005
If I could give this a zero, I would. Everything was so promising.... the meatballs smelled fantastic, the sauce was nice. When I took them out of the oven, however, the outside was alright, but the inside has the consistency of raw dough... Mushy mushy mushy. I thought that maybe more time in the oven would firm them out, but nothing worked.

Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2005
Really lovely. You'd want to be careful though; too much sweet potato in each wrap can make them a little on the sweet side. More bean than potato makes for a really delicious dinner... Everyone in the family loved these! The bean part has made me swear off canned refried beans forever!

Vegetarian Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2004
This gravy is so, so, so good. The only things I do differently to the recipe are; more broth (can be a little lumpy without extra broth), more salt (because of more broth) and no yeast. This gravy is mouthwatering... I often just have it with french bread!

Tofu Parmigiana

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2004
This recipe is fantastic! It is just lovely with loads of cheese to melt over the end result. This is the first tofu recipe that didn't make me gag when I tried it! Thanks for making vegetarianism a little bit easier.
