About this Cook
I have been cooking and baking for years but recently taken on the new challenge of cooking for my newlywed husband who has a milk allergy. So I'm very interested in dairy-free recipe. We also try to eat whole grains, use healthy fats, eat lots of veggies and beans, and limit sugar (except for the occasional treat!) I love!
My favorite things to cook
Because my husband is dairy-free, I've had to change up some of my favorite things to cook! But lately I've been really enjoying asian stir-fry and Latin american food! I've also ventured into the world of baking bread!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking Thanksgiving, Christmas dinner at my house with my sisters and mom!
My cooking triumphs
Champion Chili Cook off winner!! Gotta love Chili!
My cooking tragedies
Forgetting sugar in oatmeal cookies one time...they tasted like card board! Yuck!

Hash Brown and Egg Casserole
After reading the reviews I also made some adjustments. I doubled everything except the potatoes. I used potatoes o'brien as suggested (the ones with peppers and onions mixed in) And I used a spicy chorizo style sausage for 1lb of the sausage. I added some chopped garlic in with the onions and sausage while cooking as well. My experience was that a 13x9 pan was a little small if you double the recipe because it was pretty tightly packed in there. Might want to use a slightly larger pan if you've got one!

Holiday Punch I
I changed the lemonade to pineapple like one member advised. I also used the frozen cranberries like several mentioned. Delectable! :-)

Dulce de Leche
I want to make this recipe. Does it matter what kind of milk I use? (2%, skim, whole?) Thanks for your help!
