Black Halloween Punch
About this Cook
I have two of the cutest little boys anyone has ever seen!
My favorite things to cook
I mostly cook desserts. I'm terrible about having cakes or cookies or something laying around and it's ruining my diet! :) I've been doing more with attempting gourmet dishes for my hubby and trying to stay away from my wonderful desserts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I remember growing up and helping my mom cook everything from a batch of cookies to a full-fledged 7-course meal
My cooking tragedies
When my ex-husband and I were first dating, I wanted to show off my wonderful cooking skills. I made him a chocolate no-bake cheesecake. I wasn't paying attention and put twice the butter in. It never set up so he got chocolate soup instead. Then, when we first got married, we had just moved in to our first apartment and for some reason, our microwave and cookware were all in the last truckload. So, for our first night together, I wanted to make my new hubby something for dinner and all I could find a box of mac-and-cheese. I made the terrible mistake of thinking I could cook it in my crock pot! It was awful.

Crescent Mummy Dogs
I hate hot dogs unless they are charred over an open flame, but these were so tasty (and cute!). The kids loved them and they made a great addition to our Halloween menu for the kids. We omitted the cheese because I forgot, but they didn't even need it. Definitely have to try it with cheese next time!

Halloween Brain Dip
This felt like cheater guacamole, and since I was pressed for time and feeding it to the kids, I went with it. The dip turned out strange, but the idea of the head of cauliflower was a nice touch. the boys didn't buy it, but it grossed the girls out pretty well.

Black Halloween Punch
Brilliant idea for a Halloween party. I have made this two years now and both times, it turned out a murky orange color. The first year, I added black dye to it. This year, I just added a bit more blue to darken the brown. It is REALLY sweet though. I cut the sugar in half and it was still plenty sweet. I also did a frozen skull and the dry ice and it turned out so perfect. The kids LOVED it and ask for it every year.
