Chocolate Oil Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
This is the only recipe I've found that tasted almost as moist and delicious as the Betty Crocker cake mix. However, I made some alterations. Instead of water, I used 2 cups brewed (decaffinated) coffee, and I brought the sugar down to 1 1/2 cups instead of 2. Very delicious recipe. A perfect 5 out of 5!

Mocha Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
I altered the recipe like so many reviews said to do: I used 1 cup applesauce instead of margarine, 3/4 cups of sugar, 1/2 cup of chocolate chips, and I don't buy instant coffee so I brewed 1 cup of coffee and put it all in the muffins. Since the muffins were so watery (due to the coffee) I increased the flour to 2 1/2 cups (half whole wheat and half white flour.) The muffins were delicious but since I used brewed coffee, I couldn't taste the coffee, also, the muffins came out too soft. But to be fair, that wasn't the recipe's fault, it was just my error in judgment. I will definitely make them again, but next time with instant coffee. Great recipe! The muffins were delicious!

Fluffy Carrot Muffins with Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2009
This was a fantastic carrot muffin recipe. Believe it or not: I've been looking for a tasty, moist carrot muffin recipe for the LONGEST time. Every recipe I found, the muffins were dry and tasteless. But this tastes very similar to the muffins I buy from coffee shops. But I did make a few alterations. I used 2 eggs instead of 3, I used 1/2 cup of oil instead of 3/4, and I only used 1 tsp of baking soda instead of 1 1/2. My husband also loved this recipe, and I'm definitely going to make these muffins again.

Light Wheat Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2009
I followed the recipe exactly but since a lot of reviews said there wasn't enough flavour, I added a bit of garlic powder and basil leaves. I don't think the yeast was enough because the dough didn't rise both times I put it in a warm oven. Personally, I found the recipe too sweet but my husband loved it. It's a good, fun recipe but not one of my favourite bread recipes.

Indian Naan II

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2008
This naan recipe was very tasty. However, I didn't think 2 cups of flour was enough. The dough was sticky and getting stuck to my fingers. As I was kneading the dough, I sprinkled more flour into the mixing bowl, until it was the right consistenty. This was my first time making naan, and I was pleasantly surprised.

Cinnamon Bread I

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2006
This is a really nice recipe. This bread comes out moist and everyone in my family really enoyed it. The only problem is that it's so addictive! In my oven, I have to bake it for 70 minutes to make sure it's completely ready on the inside and I don't mix the cinnamon mixture TOO much because I like the marble affect but overall, this is a really tasty loaf.

Easy Oatmeal Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2005
I did not like this recipe at all. The muffins were dry and very tasteless, I ate a few because I didn't want to waste them, but I just couldn't finish something that tasted like exactly play dough.

Easy Iced Coffee

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2004
I had an urge for a Tim Horton's Iced cappuccino one day and found this recipe. I think it's awsome, but a litte tip of variation for iced cap lovers: Instead of putting the coffee and milk mixture in a glass of ice, blend it in with the ice in a blender, if you have an ice breaker. The taste and texture are almost like the one at Tim Hortons. Try it, you'll get hooked and won't have to spend two dollars at Timmy's every morning.
