About this Cook
I'm a college student at the University of Florida. I started cooking in high school, mostly baking and bringing food to school for friends. Now I'm carrying on my mom's good-cookin torch!
My favorite things to cook
I love love love to bake, but that's probably because I have a mean sweet tooth. I pretty much love to cook everything, but I HATE doing the dishes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sweet bun easter bunnies with little raisen eyes! :)
My cooking triumphs
Baklava, Indian food, and most anything else I try my hand at.
My cooking tragedies
I was sprinkling a finishing touch of cloves on a pan of baklava fresh out of the oven and the lid fell off of the cloves and BOMBED my poor baklava. I was so upset that to this day if I bite into a whole clove it nauseates me.

Chinese Garlic Chicken
Kind of wonky. Why would you bread chicken and then simmer it in broth?! Although no breading was left on the chicken, at least it gave the resulting sauce some body. Flavor was good, technique aside.

Lentil Chili
This was a good start, but needed a fair bit of doctoring up to really be interesting. It also required far more water than required. Just think: lentils and bulghur need way more than 3 cups of water to cook! I would estimate that I added an additional 5 cups of water during the cook time. For extra flavor, we added ground turkey, some red wine vinegar, and topped with cheese.

Raspberry Lemon Muffins
Very yummy, but rather wet. I will add another one-third cup of flour to the next batch.
