Italian Bread Using a Bread Machine

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2013
This was excellent! I let it rise on the baking sheet so it wasn't moved, and did not add any egg or anything on it. I slashed the top and it helped it rise more. After I cooked it mostly, I let it cool a bit and then cut it halfway through into almost slices, spread garlic butter in it, wrapped it in tin foil and baked it for another 10 min. Ahhhmazing!

This cake turned out amazing!!! It was a complete and total hit, and the best cheesecake I've ever made. Thanks for sharing it! It will be a keeper for sure :)

Best Brownies

Reviewed: May 7, 2012
These were excellent and very much in between cake and fudge. We left the icing off because it would be too sweet for our family. I also listened to the other reviews and did not use a mix-master, instead we used a wisk being very careful to not over beat. I think this is the key!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2012
Waaaaay to much baking powder. They tasted of baking powder strongly. The kids liked them but hubby and I couldn't eat more than one. I would max it at 2 tsp next time and they would be great.

Soft Sandwich Buns

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2012
Amazing! I agree that they have too much sugar to use consistently, but I think I'll try and cut it down next time. I'm also going to try them whole wheat. But as a treat they were fantastic.

Oatmeal Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2012
These turned out great! I doubled the recipe and made it with water as we are milk intolerant in our house. My son said "these are great mom! They're better than regular pancakes! Can you make them every time?" So I guess that means they are a hit. My hubby wasn't as convinced but he enjoyed them :)

Whole Wheat Honey Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2012
This was super tasty and not at all without flavour. In fact it was a million times better than a lot of recipes I've made. The only thing I wasn't sure about was that it sunk a bit after it came out of the breadmaker. It looked beautiful when it came out though and tasted amazing. I'm not sure if it was me or the recipe, or my breadmaker that caused the sinkage...I did put it on a timer overnight, so that could be it. All in all a fantastic whole wheat bread recipe. This will be my staple recipe now. Thanks!

Potato Latkes I

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2011
These were amazing!! The only change I made was to use rice flour instead of AP, as we are a gluten free house. My youngest is 18 months old, and a very picky eater, he eats like a mouse. He consumed 3 HUGE latkes and was wanting more. This will be a family favorite, it's better than any I've made before. Served with a dollop of sour cream and some green onions. Amazing!

Oven Baked BBQ Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2011
Seriously amazing. I did put them in a glass dish and cover them with foil, uncovering them to add the sauce. They took longer to cook but turned out fantastic and coated with gooey sauce.

Grilled Salmon Skewers

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2011
This recipe is awesome just the way it is! I did change one thing but it would not change the flavor...I substituted agave syrup for the honey (same flavor just a change for health reasons). It was wonderful, not too sweet, not too salty. The only issue I had was the salmon had a tendency to fall off the skewers. I did put it on tin foil sprayed with oil. This helped a bit. My sons (1 yr and 7 yrs LOVED it...went back for seconds, and they do not usually care for fish). My hubby loved it too. We will be making this again and again, thanks!

Chewy Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2010
These cookies were AMAZING just as they were + 1/2 tsp of salt. I also added 1/4c. of crystallized ginger chopped up, with 1 tsp of pumpkin spice and they were awesome!

Gourmet Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2010
Excellent start to a great recipe...I used it as a base to add other ingredients. I reduced the mayonnaise down to 1/4 c and 1/4 sour cream as it was way too much. Then I added 1 tsp curry powder and 3/4 cup of rinsed canned garbanzo bean. Yum!

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2010
These tasted awesome, but they lost a star because the soda water made them stick to the pan, even though I greased it. I think maybe I might need a better pan possibly. Otherwise they were excellent. I think next time I will divide them into 9 pieces and double the recipe however as they were a little small for my tastes. They puffed up beautifully and I also took the other reviewers advice and dipped them in butter after coming out of the oven. Good recipe for children...my son loved them!

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
I loved this soup! I ended up using some ham from the night before and cut it up into small cubes, which worked great. My whole family loved it and I'm going to make it my staple potato soup recipe for sure!

Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2008
This recipes ended up being a bit too salty for me. However the rest of the family loved it! I think I would cut down on the soy sauce a bit and probably change the sugar to be brown sugar like the other people suggested next time.

Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2008
This recipe turned out excellent, my family loved it and my husband asked for seconds...which is always good! I did end up adding about a tbsp more of soy sauce, simply because our family likes a bit more flavour. However I think it needed something else, so next time I'm going to try some garlic and maybe cumin or some other spices.

Gourmet Chicken Sandwich

This is an absolutely fabulous recipe! I am now addicted to it and will be going broke buying piles of chicken breasts from now on! It is a little messy though, so not terribly kid friendly.

Gloria's Sausage Gravy with Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2005
As others said, this is a great recipe, just like the restaurants, however there is just not enough gravy and it comes out too thick. I doubled it and added more milk-add enough so that you get the consistancy you personally like. It was just too thick for me. Make sure you cook the flour well to get rid of the pasty taste before you add the milk.
