Three Bean Soup

As it has been mentioned in other reviews, this recipes has no spices in it so use it as a base/ starting point to work with- be creative- use different spices to create "character" for your soup

Kathy's Delicious Whole Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2007
it was ok, it didn't come out dry at all- i found it a bit on the oily side. The flavour of the meat was quite nice tho.

Spicy Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2007
wonderful, simple and quick to do. It was tasty, the sweet potatoes didn't come out crunchy but i was fine with that. Sweet and with a slight kick to it. I found the recipe/ spices in perfect proportions- the heat didn't overpower the sweetness of the potatoes and the sugar.

Whiskey Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2006
i must say that i wasn't sure what to expect from this dish. It was interesting to try, but i probabaly will not try this recipe again. I found it a little on the bland side. i was hoping for a little more spark in the dish ( because of the whiskey). I feel that there is something missing in the dish, and i cannot figure what it is. i beleive that this could be a a very good dish ( if i could figure out what the ingrediant is)

Picadillo

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2006
I have always done chili, and wanted a variation - i found that this is it. i was worried about adding capers and vinagar- but was surprised how it complimented the dish. I also found that i enjoyed the cinnamon and the slight sweetness that the dish gave. Being on low carb the only thing i was careful about was the olives and the tomatoes. A very satisfying meal that you could whip up in a short amount of time.

Egg and Cheese Puffs

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2006
i have to say this recipe surprised me. Not only is it simple to make but yummy as well. The only thing that I adjusted was the flour- i used an low carb alternative. I would definitely use this recipe again and again. The only thing i wasn't fond of was the saltyness- i think this could be changed by using low sodium bacon and not adding any salt to the recipe. I did have a problem with the little suckers sticking to the muffin cups- not sure what to do about that tho. Anyways, high marks for the great recipe- hope to see more from you in the future ;)

Oriental Hot 'n' Sour Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2006
I found it to be a nice soup, not quite like the ones in the restaurants. It is Low carb ( which is what i was looking for). I found that there was a bit too much rice vinegar for my taste- i will put in 25 mls instead. It is a good base to start with- i will be making it again.

Shrimp with Red Curry and Basil

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2006
wow, this is a great dish. I WILL be making this one again- very straight- forward. Has a rich body to it, a mild spicy flavour ( but it doesn't overwhelm the shrimp or basil). I think it would be a good introduction to curry dishes ( if you have never tried curry before). I can't say enough about this dish- it was very satisfying.

Egg Salad III

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2005
i found this a good basic recipe to work with. You could add mustard, or celery etc to it to add some variety to it. I'm not fond of olives in the salad ( it was worth trying anyways). For myself, i would only use real mayo- i feel that miracle whip ( and other subs)would not do this recipe justice.

Slow Cooker Chili II

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2005
i really enjoyed this recipe. not a waterey dish- thick and beautiful! cut back on the hot sauce and added a can of beans and molasses. added a touch of sweetness to it. I will be making this again. there is quite alot of beans in this recipe- i did add another pound of ground beef to balance it out.
