Easy Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2014
Wonderful! I used Progresso chicken broth for the spices and Pillsbury Grand biscuits cut into eighths to save time. Initially made because I have the same soup bowls as in the photo and came across the recipe when I was looking for comfort food.. NEVER expected it too be this good! Husband loved it. This recipe is a keeper.

Spicy Sweet Potato Chips

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2013
My family loved it! My reluctant teenage son was soon eating them out of the serving dish like french fries. After reading the reviews of soggy results I decided to cook the potatoes at 425 degrees convection for ten minutes each side. Also, I have read other sweet potato fry recipes where adding corn starch to increase crispiness was recommended. So I cut the potatoes, lightly sprinkled with corn starch and then tossed in a bowl. I mixed the syrup, olive oil and cayenne pepper and a little sea salt in a separate small bowl. Then I poured this mixture over the potatoes and tossed with my hands until evenly coated. I put the sliced potatoes flat on a cookie sheet covered with aluminum foil and sprayed with Pam, then baked as above. Easy clean up. All the original ingredients, just a slight change in the preparation and baking. They were delicious! This will become a staple. P.S. I used a crinkle cutter to slice potatoes which I believe helped them to crisp up also.

Old Charleston Style Shrimp and Grits

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2013
I gave the recipe a four because it was time-consuming and the directions were difficult to follow. That being said, I thought I would never make it again... Until we tasted it. IT WAS WONDERFUL. I enjoyed it more than my favorite shrimp 'n grits place in Murrell's Inlet, SC. My husband thought it was perfect southern, comfort food, especially up here in Northern Illinois. It did take a lot longer for the grits to thicken than the recipe said; at least twice as long. I also used two cups of broth to make the sauce. I WILL MAKE IT AGAIN!

Better than expensive coffee store scones! This timeI used Greek Honey Yogurt instead of sour cream, pomegranate Craisins and orange zest. Light and flaky.... Husband loved them. Cjh

Raspberry Lemon Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2013
Loved these muffins. I used one egg instead of egg whites and a tablespoon of lemon EXTRACT instead of lemon juice. Also, added a tablespoon of milk as recommended by other reviewers. This recipe is a keeper!
