Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: May 13, 2010
These cookies were so good! I did use 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/3 cup white sugar instead to make the cookies chewier. I baked them for 10 minutes, cooled them on the cookie sheet for 5 minutes like written and they turned out perfectly. Will be making them again for sure!

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2010
This was really good and really easy. I did double this recipe. I doubled all ingredients except the carrot. I had leftover, cooked frozen chicken breast that I used in this recipe. I used only 1 tbsp of olive oil to saute the onions, celery and carrots before adding the remaining ingredients. I used broken up spaghetti noodles because I didn't have anything else in the house. The spaghetti noodles measured out to be 1 1/2 cups total dry, not cooked before I added them to the soup. I used 2, 32oz boxes of Swanson chicken broth. I added 1/4 tsp of pepper and no extra salt. It was so good for lunch with a homemade loaf of bread. I will be making this again! Thanks!

Oven Fresh Seasoned Potato Wedges

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2010
This was really good, but I made modifications. I par-boiled the potato wedges for 7 minutes. Drained in a colander then mixed with the spices. I added 1/2 tsp of salt instead of 1/4 tsp. I put the potatoes on parchment paper on the cookie sheet. I had to bake the potatoes for 35 minutes but they got crispy on the outside and were tender on the inside. Really good and will definitely make again.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
Yum, Yum, Yum! Nothing else to say really. I didn't make any changes and this recipe is FABULOUS! The only thing that would have made it better was ice cream. I think if you had double the topping like some people said it would have been too much. This recipe has a nice ratio of topping to apples.

Smooth Sweet Tea

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
I was just about ready to go to McDonald's to get a Sweet tea when I thought I should go to allrecipes and see if there was a recipe for it. Boy, am I glad I found one! YUMMY! I didn't have just plain black Lipton tea in the house, so I used some White and Red tea instead. Turned out GREAT! I won't have to head to McD's for my fix anymore! Thanks for sharing!

Spanish Rice Original

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2009
This was a really good recipe. I used one yellow and one red bell pepper instead of the green pepper. I also had to add another 1/2 cup of chicken broth after 30 minutes of cooking the rice to finish cooking the rice. I used 1, 15 oz can od diced tomatoes that I drained because I didn't have any fresh tomatoes in the house. My almost 2 year old daughter loved it as well. Next time I might cook up some chicken breast and add it for a complete meal.

Garlic Cheese Flatbread

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2007
This is a great recipe for a quick garlic bread. I did the dough in my kitchen aid mixer. I did have to add probably another 1/2 to 3/4 cup of bread flour to make this dough not be so sticky. I did make this on a rainy day, so that could account for the stickiness of the dough. I also sprinkled the top of the bread with 1 tsp of italian seasoning. I only used 4 tsp of garlic powder (instead of the 6 tsp) it called for. I could have used the entire amount though. It wasn't overwhelmingly garlicy. I also only used Mozzarella cheese because that's all I had in the house. This would be a great base for pizzas. My husband loved the bread.

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2007
This recipe was pretty good. I did make some changes. I used home canned tomatoes and drained them before I measured 28 oz. I did use 1 tsp of italian seasoning in the tomato sauce. I used 2 eggs in the meatball mixture and it did not seem too dry to me. I cooked the meatballs in the sauce, but added them so they cooked for about 1 hour instead of the 30 minutes it called for. The meatballs came out nice and tender and were delicious. I did end up cooking the sauce for a total of 2 1/2 hours because I wanted it to cook down a bit more and become thicker. I used 6 oz of tomato sauce instead of the paste just because that's what I had in the house. I will definately make this again. Great recipe to make for Sunday dinner when its raining outside! It would be great as a Meatball Sub Sandwich. I made the garlic cheese flatbread (also on this site) to go with it. Thanks for the great recipe Jeremy!

Zucchini Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2006
I have to say, I was intrigued by this idea, and after going out into the garden yesterday I had to do something with those baseball bat zucchini that had sprung up overnight! This turned out amazing! LOVED it! My husband said, this is zucchini? I did add the 3/4 cup oatmeal to the topping as suggested by someone else. I also used my food processor to make my crust. I topped it with some New York Vanilla Ice cream! Yummo! Will definately be making this again and bringing into work to "fool" other non-veggies lovers. Thanks Don & Mary!

Fancy Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2006
These brownies were fabulous! I made them for my friends birthday dinner and she LOVED them. They are nice and chewy, in my opinion, the perfect brownie. The only thing missing was the vanilla ice cream, then this would have been over the top delicious! I did cut the rolos in half, then they covered the entire surface of the brownie! Perfect!

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2005
Made this for Christmas brunch and it turned out wonderful. I used the southern style hashbrowns (the little cubes) Everyone loved it! Very cheesy. I like things a little salty so I thought it was just right on the salt. Might try this with cream of mushroom soup next time.

Baked French Toast

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2005
I was kind of disappointed in this. I served it for Christmas brunch and had a couple problems. I don't think this is supposed to fit into a 9x13 pan. I had to stack the bread in two layers to fit the pan. In the morning, the topping spilled over into the oven smoking out my guests. It turned out kind of mushy. More like bread pudding. The taste was good, but too mushy for my taste. Might make again using 2, 9x13 pans so there is one layer of bread per pan. Line bottom of oven with foil and cook a lot longer.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2005
This is a great cookie recipe if you LOVE chocolate. It was fantastic. I did use milk chocolate chips because my husband doesn't like semi-sweet. I didn't think it was too chocolatey. I had to bake the whole 10 minutes and I let it cool on the baking sheet a couple minutes before transferring to cooling rack. It made 3.5 dozen cookies for me.

Spiced Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2005
My husband and I grow the Sugar Pie pumpkins. We ended up with about 20 pumpkins this year so we looked for a seed recipe. This is the BEST seed recipe ever! The butter and worchestishire sauce really make this recipe. We had about 16 cups of seed we baked up and stored in Food Saver bags. Great snack and gift!

American Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2005
This is the BEST Lasangna recipe EVER! My Husband and I both loved it! It is a bit of work, but well worth the leftovers! I did do as others suggested and added another can (12oz) of tomato paste, so it was nice and saucy. Not dried out like my Mom's recipe. I will have to send her this one! Thanks Rosemary!

Garlic Green Beans

This recipe was pretty good and I even forgot to add the parmesean cheese! I'm sure it would have been better with the cheese. Next time I would cut down on the oil a bit.

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2004
My husband loved this recipe. Also great because it has common ingredients that we always have in the house. I used minced garlic and that worked well. Will make this again, and maybe try the chicken nugget variation.

Mrs. Sigg's Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2004
Really good peanut butter taste. The cookie stays soft and chewy. I did use the 1.5 cups of peanut butter. I had to bake them for 10 minutes. Hubby loved these.
