About this Cook
Wife came in after 40 years of marriage and surprisingly said "I cooked the first 40, you cook the next 40, then we'll negotiate." So here I are learning what a frying pan (oop! I mean saute' pan) is and what a calorie or carb is. I hope to survive the challenge!
My favorite things to cook
I am experimenting with all types of foods, recipes and applications.
My favorite family cooking traditions
GRILLING - It's sooooo much easier.
My cooking triumphs
Made a killer Lobster Colorada for our 47 anniversary as a surprice dinner and it was a GRAND SLAMMER.
My cooking tragedies
Almost every other dish LOL

Chicken Noodle Salad with Peanut-Ginger Dressing
I made this recipe last night almost as written. I used specific name brand ingredients as listed, however, I changed the linguine to Ronzoni "Garden Delight" Enriched Carrot, Tomato & Spinach Spaghetti and it was remarkable. I changed the red bell pepper to a half jar of drained Mezzetta Deli-Sliced Roasted Red Bell Pepper strips. Yum! And most importantly, I made this salad 3 hours before dinner and refrigerated it. When the pasta finished cooking, I drained it and tossed with 2 ounces of Cilantro-Onion olive oil to prevent sticking, placed in a sealable bowl and chilled it. The vegetable ingredients were chopped added to a large bowl and chilled. I grilled the chicken breasts inside on a panini grill and chilled. When ready to serve I combined all ingredients and it came out marvelous, worthy of 10 stars if I could go that high. Thank you for sharing this recipe Sherbg. It is definately a keeper!! Andy

Marilyn's Green Beans Italiano
I made this recipe exactly as written last night and the entire family loved it. I served these beans with Italian Breaded Pork Chops, also from this site, and parsley potatoes with a half cup of sour cream to take the potatoes up a notch. This dinner was worth a 10 star rating and would be a customer pick on any resaurant meno.

Italian Breaded Pork Chops
I made this last night and the entire family loved it. The only change I made was to use shredded parmesan instead of grated. I served it with Marilyn's Green Beans Italiano, also from this site, and parsley potatoes, with a half cup of sour cream to take them up to another level. The whole meal was worthy of 10 stars. Thank you Elisaw for sharing such a marvelous meal. Those chops would be a customer pick on any restaurant menu.
