Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2006
This was a very easy and delicious recipe, however next time I won't add the beer. I didn't like the flavor it gave the soup. I also added the whole can of tomato soup and one can of diced tomoatoes because I didn't have two on hand. Turned out well.

Black Bean Pinwheels

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2006
This is a snack that my husband, my 2 year old and I love. I did change a few things. I didn't put in the onion salt because I didn't have it and then I added some salsa with the black beans in the processor. It made it a better texture. I also added Cheddar Cheese right before I rolled it up. Loved them and will make them all the time!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2008
These cookies were so good!! I made them for a Fourth of July Party and my family ate almost half of them before the guests arrived. Needless to say I went home with just the platter! I cut the recipe in half and it made almost 60 cookies. They do cook where they are placed on the cookie sheet, so I was able to put almost 20 cookies on the sheet at one time. These are wonderful and will become a family recipe for us.

Banana Cake X

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2008
We made this cake for a family get together this weekend and it was so good! We used three bananas instead of two and added pecans to the batter. We cooked it in a bundt pan, increasing the baking time by about 10 minutes. When it was cooled, I drizzled it with Fat Free Caramel Ice Cream topping and chopped up pecans. I had three people ask for the recipe that night. We already went to the store and bought more bananas to start rippening so we can make it again!

Bananas Foster II

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
I made this recipe tonight for a family dinner. It was delicious and everybody said it was great. We had 7 people and I cute up 6 bananas but 5 would have been enough. I substituted pecans for the walnuts and used 3 1/2 tsp. of rum extract instead of the rum. This is something that I will make again and again. My five year old said it was the best!

German Apple Cake I

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2008
This cake is very good but hard to judge when it is done. I overcooked it a little, although it still tasted good. I did tweak this a little as well. I cut the oil to 1/2 cup and then added 1/2 a cup of Cinnamon Applesauce. I also used 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of brown sugar. I added pecans to the mix as well because my family loves pecans in everything. I sprayed my pan with Pam and then used a cinnamon/Splenda mixture instead of flour. The cake was good by itself, but what made it really good was the glaze I put on top. I used 1/2 cup stick butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar and 2 tsp. milk, boil until sugar is dissolved and pour over the cake...YUM!!! This definitely made it a hit! Good Recipe.

Banana Custard Scrunch

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2008
I gave this 5 stars as my 5 year old, my husband and I loved it. We had it for dessert and wished we had more for a late night snack! This is great for breakfast too! I used 2/3 cup oatmeal and then 1/3 cup of Granola Cereal we had to give it a little more texture. Very good this way.

Baked Halibut Steaks

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2008
This was a good recipe. I used cod instead of Halibut because I am on a poor man's budget! It was very good but I did have to adjust the temperature to 375 and cooked it about 30 minutes. I used the Italian Diced Tomatoes as other people have recommended. I used minced garlic and minced onion and the flavors were great. I think the Feta gave it the best flavor so don't skip this ingredient! My 5 year old did not like this though but my husband and I did.

Acorn Squash

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2008
Very good! I used a cinnamon sugar mixture after making another recipe for dessert as well as the brown sugar. It was so good. My 5 year old gobbled it up. We wish we would have put more of the sweet mixture on top, even though that makes it a little less healthy. Will make this often.

Shrimp and Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2009
This was a good recipe, probably not a family staple, but something new and interesting to eat. I didn't have beef bouillon, so I added a little chicken bouillon instead. I also doubled the amount of flour, water and evaporated milk. It was just right, any less would have been skimpy. We had rice and biscuits with it, as I didn't know which would be better. I think the biscuits were my favorite. My son loved it and wants it for breakfast tomorrow.

Sunshine Punch

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
This is absolutely the best punch. I have made it for my family in the most casual setting but yet for a baby shower in a very formal setting. Everyone loves it and asks for the recipe!
