About this Cook
I LOVE to bake and am known as the "cookie mom" to my kids' classes. Now that I am back teaching full time I don't get to bake as often as I'd like. Cooking can be fun, but give me butter, sugar and chocolate and let me go to it! Baking is a great stress reliever for me where as cooking is more of a chore.
My favorite things to cook
Cookies! Also brownies and birthday cakes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My kids and I make a gingerbread house every December. A few years ago we decided the big ham Easter dinner wasn't for us so now it is tradition to clean up the grill on Easter weekend and have steak!
My cooking triumphs
Perfecting my Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe. It is now a "family secret".
My cooking tragedies
I have started more than one oven mit on fire!

No Roll Pie Crust I
Unfortunately this did not work for me. I followed the directions, which is unusual for me, but the results were less than satisfactory.

Classic Macaroni Salad
Excellent and very simple to prepare. I did up the sauce by 50% as it seemed a little dry after sitting in the fridge a few hours. I skipped the celery and added cubed cheddar instead. I also used green onion vs. the regular kind.

Black Tea Lemonade
Very good and very simple. My husband is hooked. The only change I made was to use 5 teabags vs. 3 and to let the tea brew 10-15 minutes before adding the lemonade.
