I would suggest trying butter flavor crisco. Works good for me.

Brown Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
Made this for dinner last night. It turned out very well. Didn't have to cook longer and was not dried out. Left out basil but only because I was out of it, but followed recipe other than that. Might try basil next time or the oregano as another reviewer suggested. Loved the simplicity of cooking this

Baked Omelet

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
This was quick and easy. My 10 year old GD didn't want to try it and then wanted thirds! Would definitely use again. Made with leftover deli ham this first time but will try sausage and baked ham next. Made right by recipe.

Caramel Pound Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
This turned out very well. I baked last night and iced this morning. Accidentally forgot to put my pecans in so toasted and placed on top after icing. Did use buttermilk as other review suggested as I like buttermilk in baked goods. Did more of a glaze with the icing but is an excellent caramel icing recipe.

Dad's Steak Rub

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
We tried this last night and turned out really good. My husband really liked the sweetness from the maple syrup. Didn't have real garlic so used garlic powder. This was only change. Would recommend and will use again.

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: May 3, 2008
This was good. I did switch the wine for apple juice (we don't do wine) and used low sodium soy sauce & worcestershire as suggested in previous reviews. I definitely will make again. Loved being able to cook in slow cooker and meat was very tender.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2008
I have reviewed this before with 5+ stars but wanted to update. I baked with Splenda grandular and Splenda Brown Sugar Blend and my testers said it worked great. Didn't brown as well which made me unhappy but the taste was still good. Try the Splenda if you don't need the sugar.

I will give this a "5+"! Made these last night and they are very good. My husband was well pleased with the results. Will test them out on my church folks this afternoon.

Blueberry Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2005
I would give this a 10+ if possible! Every time I fix this I am asked for a copy of the recipe. It's not hard to make and taste wonderful. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2005
This was very good. I followed some of the tips from others (baking in pineapple juice first & using brown sugar with syrup) and didn't need to turn on broiler. I used 10 lb ham so didn't have much glaze left over. I also made sure I used lots of heavy duty foil!

Chocolate Glaze I

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2005
This had a good taste, so the 4 star; however, I am looking for a glaze that is thin and will harden on the cake. This one was rather thick and didn't harden.
