Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2013
Best pancakes ever. I added about a tsp of vanilla because I think vanilla makes everything better, and decreased salt to just a pinch, since I was using salted butter. Like another reviewer mentioned, I allowed the milk and eggs to be at room temp. I combined the dry ingredients first, then combined the moist ingredients and mixed them in. Perfect!

Strawberry Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2012
Yum! This is tasty. I made it exactly as described. My daughter described it as tasting like a snickerdoodle cookie with strawberries. It had a nice, thin, crunchy outside with a moist inside. My only regret is that I didn't have enough strawberries to make a second batch. I will definitely be making this again.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: May 29, 2012
I made these with half whole wheat and half white flour and they turned out yummy. I left one batch in just a little longer because my husband likes his cookies crispier. If you like softer cookies, keep a close eye on them and pull them out before they start to brown.

Bake Sale Lemon Bars

Reviewed: May 19, 2012
Like Jennifer, I hate when people review the recipe after they've made their own changes. This recipe as is stands is very good. It's a bit thin, so if you like yours thicker, make your own adjustments. The taste, though, is delicious.

Remiscitti

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2011
This was very good Anytime I try a new recipe and the whole family eats it, it deserves 5 stars. I would add a tad more green pepper next time I cook it, to suit my individual taste.

Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2011
My family loved it. My husband said the french fried onions were good on their own, but didn't add anything to the chicken. My daughter and I thought it was great just as it was!

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2011
This was a big hit over the holidays. I found it much easier to bake the yams, open them, then scoop them out. I had really, really large yams, so it only took about two of them to give me the amount I needed. It even works well without the pecans.

I found this pretty flavorless.

Sausage and Parmesan Puffs

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2011
My husband loved these. I think they would have been better with a spicier sausage, but that's just the kind of sausage I had on hand.

Neiman Marcus Cake II

I made no modifications to the recipe. It's delicious, but very sweet...but, we like that in my family.

Slow-Cooked Tamale Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2011
The only modification made to this was the omission of olives since my family doesn't like them. This was just a mushy, flavorless mess with an unappetizing appearance. My husband described it as a waste of cheese. Sorry!

Ragu® No Boiling Baked Ziti

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2010
This had a good taste, but was a bit dry. Will use more sauce and water next time. It was like the ricotta soaked everything up (if that's even possible).

So easy! Spice and carrot cake mixes are good when frosted with cream cheese icing.

Apple Delight

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
This recipe is ok, but I recommend using only half a cake mix. Make sure to cook it long enough, or you'll end up with goo!

Shepherd's Pie Daddy's Way

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
Fast, fast, fast. I used instant potatoes and regular cream of mushroom soup. I didn't have American cheese on hand and used slices of cheddar, and it turned out just fine. I also added about half a can of peas. British hubby says it's not as good as his mother's, but he was still pleased.

Quick and Easy Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
A good recipe. It's really, really fast and unfussy. One bad thing - if you make it as directed you will wind up with something VERY hot due to so much pepper. I will significantly reduce the amount of pepper the next time I make this, probably to 1/4 teaspoon as someone previously suggested.

Snickerdoodles I

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2004
Wow. Snickerdoodles are my favorite cookies, so I've tried a lot of different recipies. This is the best one, by far. Unlike other reviewers, I did not have any trouble with crumbly dough. They whip quickly and easily, and are the perfect combination of crispy around the edges and soft and chewy in the middle.
