Doc's Best Beef Jerky

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2007
This was very good beef jerky had a nice flavor. I might use a little less soy sauce next time though, because a few people who tried it said there was a little too much for their taste. When I cut these into strips I cut against the grain on the meat(something my hubby suggested to make it easier to chew). My store carries 2 different types of "Liquid Smoke" I used the Natural Mesquite flavor with this recipe. Thanks for the great recipe!

Cheater's Enchiladas

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2004
This recipe was very good. I added 1 lb. cooked ground beef seasoned w/taco seasoning in the middle layers. Also used a Mexican Blend cheese and red enchilada sauce, and some refried beans(canned kind)in the layers. The top layer of enchilada sauce I covered with more of the mexican cheese. It turned out great! Even my picky 5 year old ate it! We did like it a lot better with extra sour cream on it while we were eating it though.

Cheese Lovers' Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2007
This was great. My son (who is a very picky eater) loves this lasagna. I only made a few changes, I didn't have any spaghetti sauce with meat in it, so I used regular sauce and added meat (1 lb. ground turkey). I also used more of the shredded cheeses than the recipe called for. I will be making this again.

Marie's Homemade Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2007
I too halved this recipe and it still filled a 9x13 baking dish. This was pretty good. I will definitely try fixing this again adding different cheeses to it.

Cracker Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2005
YUM!! This was very good. I did pan fry the pork chops and added garlic salt, season salt, and some chicken buillon powder to the cracker mix. Then when I removed them from skillet I put pepper and garlic salt on them. They were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. YUMMY!!!

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2004
I'd always been disappointed by Red Lobster copycat recipes for their biscuits. I have found that the biscuits taste the same, but the butter/garlic coating doesn't taste "right". Instead of this melted butter mixture I mix 1 tsp. parsley flakes, 1/2 tsp. garlic, 1/2 tsp. italian seasoning and 1/4 c. melted butter to coat with and this makes it taste VERY similar to Red Lobster biscuits.

Old-Fashioned Lemonade

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2010
Yum. This is GOOD lemonade. I juiced the lemons by hand with a 3 inch strainer over my pitcher to catch the seeds. After I mixed all the ingredients together I added the squeezed lemons and filled my pitcher up with ice. This was so good and so easy to make. Thanks.

Chocolate Pretzel Rings

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2007
These were very good, I did make a few changes though. I couldn't find pretzel rings in any of my local stores so I used the square (checkerboard) pretzels (found a big bag at the Dollar Tree). I used Hershey's Hugs and regular Kisses (we liked the Hugs better). I ran out of M&M's about halfway through, so I used Reese's pieces for the rest. Yum!

Sugar Coated Pecans

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2007
These were excellent. I took the advice of other reviews and used 2 egg whites, 1 T. vanilla extract, and 1 tsp. cinnamon. I also used parchment paper on the baking sheet. I don't even like pecans very much, but I loved these. I'm making these to add to my Christmas baskets this year. Thanks for the recipe.

This was very good. I added italian seasoning, accent season salt, and powdered chicken buillon to the flour mix. I also cooked in an iron skillet. Turned out crispy and yummy.

Cowboy Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
Yum, have made it with and without butterscotch chips, it is good either way. I use 3 c. quick oats instead of 2, other than that I follow the recipe.

Sue's Two-Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: May 3, 2010
Yum, these are good. I did follow LALA1030's suggested changes. This made exactly 47 cookies using a cookie scoop. Thanks for the recipe

Clark Gable Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
These were good. My picky eaters ate them all. There were no rave reviews, but no complaints either. I scaled this to 15 servings, which called for 1 1/2 eggs, so I only used 1 egg. I also used 2 tbps. baking powder and added 1 tsp. vanilla extract. Will probably fix this again. Thanks

Oven Pot Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
Delicious! I followed another reviewer's suggestion and added garlic powder and season salt to the flour (I used Accent Season Salt). I also used water instead of vermouth and it still turned out great. I will probably add 1 more can of the mushroom soup next time so there is more gravy. There were no leftovers left after dinner. This is a great recipe!

Italian Bread II

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2006
My whole family loves this bread. I have also had this bread requested several times at family get togethers. Sometimes I follow the recipe exactly, but most of the time I skip the egg wash and omit the sesame seeds. Thanks

Meat Filled Manicotti

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2006
This recipe was very good. I do think that the filling would have tasted better with spaghetti sauce in the beef mixture. I used ricotta cheese instead of cottage cheese, but other than that used the listed ingredients. I only boiled the manicotti for 5 minutes before stuffing it. We took the leftovers to family and they raved about it. Will probably fix this again. Thanks.

Shrimp Scampi Bake

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2004
Very good. Only changes I made were instead of 1 cup butter I used 1/2 c. butter and 1/2 c. olive oil and the shrimp I had already had tails removed. This was easy to make and tasted very good, my husband ate it all in 1 serving.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2004
This bread is very good. It does taste a LOT like the rolls I used to eat in school(which I always loved). I make regular dinner rolls with this dough and not the wedges. I have made this many times. The only changes I make are: I use 1 1/2 tsp. salt and 4 C. Flour. If you make rolls with these be careful not to burn the bottoms.

Mom's Best Peanut Brittle

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
This is great peanut brittle and easy to make. I use salted peanuts and omit the salt in recipe. I add peanuts in at 250 degrees. I also add in 1 tsp. vanilla extract. I have made it with 1/2 brown sugar/ 1/2 white sugar and all white sugar it is great both ways.
