kitty litter cake
About this Cook
I am once again a resident of Upstate NY. My heart is in nowhere indiana, but my life is here, so...I have a daughter that is my world and two dogs that take a lot of my time as they are a part of the family.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook Italian. It is fun and you really can't mess it up too badly. I also like to make new and different things with my daughter. She likes the kitty litter cake and things like it. Anything to freak out the family members.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Kolaches at Christmas. My mother and I have made them for as long as I can remember. When mom got sick last year, she taught my daughter how to last Christmas my daughter and I made them. It is a nice way to remember mom.
My cooking triumphs
I made my own wedding cake. It was four tiers and the decorations matched my dress almost exactly. It was probably my best work in the kitchen.
My cooking tragedies
The lasagne that wasn't. I was making dinner for my husband's co workers and must have bumped the oven controls. The lasagne was blackened to say the least. I had to run out to the local Italian restaurant and get take out before the guests arrived.

Frying Pan Cookies
The only problem I have with these cookies is the mess in making them. They are crispy, chewy, sweet, what is not to love?

Buckeye Balls I
The quantity is large, but easily adjusted. Heck allrecipes does it for you. Freezing the balls before dipping is a must and take the time and money to go to your llocal craft store and but a dipping fork. Mine cost me under $2.00. It takes the stress out of the dipping process. My Girl Scout troop made these and gtave them to their families last Christmas. FTR, we made four batches as the recipe is written. I have a huge troop.

Granola-Date Cookies
These are amazing. I burnt the first batch and my dogs love them too. My daughter eats them for breakfast. Quick and easy to grab on the way out the door. I omitted the salt but used salted nuts since that was what I had in the cupboard. They are yummy.
