Grandma Johnson's Scones
These scones were a big hit - made a couple of flavors and froze some. Totally recommend.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies
These definitely are the best chocolate chip cookies. And not to be all piling on with the 'but I did this' angle, but here's the trick.:) Sprinkle a small amount of sea salt flakes on the top of each one. Cuts that super-sweet chocolate chip cookie taste in just the right way. I did it for a contest at work and it went over swimmingly. I used some great-looking flakes found at Safeway, slightly ground them between my fingers onto the flattened top of each raw cookie ball, pushed them in ever so slightly and baked away. Perfect in both appearance and taste.

Chocolate Toffee Cookies II
Just made a double recipe for a birthday at work. The report was that Penelope 'loved all things chocolate', so I searched "chocolate cookies" on this site and this recipe came up as the most highly-rated. For good reason - the 60+ cookies are nearly gone and I've had a dozen people stop by my desk to tell me how delicious they are. Make them! No issues to report, took a little longer in my oven but it's gas. Didn't have rum or Kahlua, just double dosed on vanilla. Used a mix of white and coconut sugar (running low on the former) and a mix of regular and whole wheat flour (same deal) and it worked just fine.
