Irish Cream Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2014
I thought it was just okay. The idea of putting the glaze in the pan that was suggested by others was brilliant. I will use that idea with other recipes. This recipe would be fine for a quick and easy dessert for the family. I would not make it to take anywhere for a special occasion.

Mushroom and Mascarpone Ravioli

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2012
The mushroom filling is so very good. The entire family enjoyed this dish. It is very good with a variety of mushrooms. If you don't have a shallot some finely chopped onion works very well. For anyone that had issues with the ravioli falling apart in the water, it helps to bring the water to a boil and then turn it down to barely a simmer, then put your ravioli in the water. Most ravioli (even store bought) should be cooked in water that is simmering. Also after you seal the edges with the egg mixture take a fork and press around all the edges. Just make sure not to make any holes in the "pillow" part of the ravioli. Also, topping the ravioli with a nice pesto instead of a red sauce makes a lighter version of the dish. One comment about the recipe; the instructions are a little confusing. First it tells you to mix the mushrooms and cheese together and then instructs you to fill the ravioli with a spoon full of mushroom mix and a spoonful of cheese. For the record, I mixed the mushroom and cheese in a bowl and filled them with the mixture. Very nice.

Cauliflower Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2010
Thank you to the person that recommended adding curry to the recipe. Cauliflower and curry, perfect. I added extra of all the veggies and had a large cauliflower. Otherwise made the recipe as directed but added in 1 1/2 tsp of a mild flavorful curry. Delicious. Also a big difference in taste if you use fresh veggies from the farmers market.

Whole Wheat and Honey Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2009
This recipe worked great on the grill. I made the recipe as stated. Threw my pizza stone on to pre-heat. Divided the dough into four equal portions and rolled out. Let the dough sit and rise for about 10 minutes while I prepped my toppings. Sprinkled a little corn meal on the stone and pre-cooked the dough, like many others suggested, for about 2 minutes on one side and a minute on the other. Put on the toppings and threw back on the grill for about another 7 minutes or until the cheese was melted, puffed and started to brown just a little. It turned out great and I did not have to heat up the house. Win, Win!

Potato, Bacon, and Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2008
I agree it is a good basic recipe, quick and easy for a week night meal. I substituted 2 cups broth for 2 of the cups of the milk. I had fresh corn so I used it. Used a little less celery and a little more carrot, just personal preference. A little pepper and it was very tasty. Thanks for the recipe.

Bryan's Spicy Red Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
Very flexible recipe. I made it the first time as written. I have made it several times now and I have altered it a little. I saute chopped carrot with the onion and use twice as much liquid as recipe calls for. I also use 1/2 broth and 1/2 water, leave out added salt if using canned broth. I puree 1/2 the soup and leave the rest chunky. It's also great with fresh spinach thrown in near the end of cooking. Great flavor from the spices and makes the house smell great when it cooks.

Chinese Sesame Noodle Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2006
This was very good. I love red bell pepper so I might put a little more in next time. Could be great for an office pot luck.
