Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2012
I went half and half with brown and white sugar, and added a pinch of salt, and one cinnamon stick. What a wonderful recipe. Since fresh cranberries freeze so well, I threw a few extra packages into the freezer for future use.

Mom's Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2012
I love this recipe. I replaced saltine crackers with quick cooking oats, and put the worcestershire in the meatloaf, not the sauce. To the sauce I added nutmeg, and served it on the side. Just wonderful !

Spareribs and Kraut

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2011
Nice basic recipe. browned the ribs in the oven, drained off the fat, then put them in a slow cooker. To the kraut I drained only half the liquid, shredded a small apple, and medium potato. I tossed this together with a tablespoon of caraway seeds, and placed this mixture in and around the ribs, cooked them on low for six hrs. The end result, was a falling off the bone, flavorful meal. I served these with twice backed potatoes.

Baked Asparagus with Balsamic Butter Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2011
I wish I could give this six stars. I had friends over for a barbeque last night, and decided to use this recipe. After reading the reviews, I made sure to brown the butter, then added equal parts balsamic, and soy sauce. Everyone I dare say raved. A big thank you goes to Cae, for a wonderful recipe.

Baked Beans II

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2011
Very nice recipe. If you lighten up on the sugar, go ahead and add a teaspoon of molasses. This will give it a wonderful flavor. This is so simple, yet delish.

Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2011
Followed the recipe exactly. It was so easy, and so good. Everyone raved. Next time I will get a much larger roast, since there were no leftovers.

Corned Beef and Cabbage II

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2011
Followed this recipe exactly, using reynolds cooking bag instead using aluminum foil. This turned out to be by far and away the finest corned beef I have ever had. The meat was not only flavorful, but it literally melted in your mouth.

Easy Turkey Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2011
I liked this recipe. I followed the recipe exactly, except used on the advice of other reviewers, two cans of soup. After it was cooked, I served this in an au gratin dish, over the top of lightly steamed broccoli.

Marinated Veggies

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2011
These were just OK. I feel as if the soy sauce is overpowering, a more natural flavor from the grilling process. I am still in the hunt, for a really good marinade.

Cucumbers in Sour Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2011
I wish I could give this more stars. The first time I followed the recipe exactly. Now I double the number of cucumbers, and add thinly sliced Vidalia onions. Great way to use up a garden full of cucumbers. thank you tarawvu for a great recipe.

Spicy Sweet Potato Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2011
Oh man, this recipe is in a class of it's own. I followed recipe exactly, and made it the evening before, and I thought it got better with age. I have never been a sweet potato lover until now. My hat is off to Patty for submitting this great recipe.

Loosemeat Sandwiches III

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2011
Excellent sandwich. If you add a packet of Lipton onion soup mix, you will have yourself a maid rite sandwich. I tried it as is, the first time and we all liked it very much. The next time I added the onion soup mix and it brought even bigger smiles. It pays to have worked at Maid rite, as a kid. It gets 5 stars either way.

We enjoyed this recipe, but found another recipe from this site, (tuna casserole from scratch) to have a bit more flavor.

New York System Hot Wiener Sauce I

These are great. I followed the recipe exactly, and my whole family devoured them. I will always make this amount, then freeze what's left over. I know that I am repeating what most people who have tryed this have said but DON'T FORGET TO USE THE CELERY SALT BEFORE SERVING. Thank you Nancy, for a wonderful recipe.

Turkey Veggie Meatloaf Cups

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
I promise that I will stop thinking bad about ground turkey as a beef substitute. This is the third recipe, from this site, that I've tried, and once again it was an out of the park home-run. I am sure we might play with this recipe in the future, but we followed it as written and all I can say is WHO KNEW??? This was just wonderful.

Meatloaf with Fried Onions and Ranch Seasoning

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2011
This was a very easy meatloaf to throw together. I topped this meatloaf with a ketchup and brown sugar mixture finished off with nutmeg to taste. Anyone who has a problem with this meatloaf falling apart can remedy it by adding a handful of Quick Oats, to the recipe. The oats will tie together nicely. I will definitely make again.

White Chili with Ground Turkey

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
The first time I made this I followed this recipe exactly, except for draining liquid from the canned beans. The second time I added an extra can of beans, (red Kidney). I like the Chili/Soup consistancy, so I kept the same amount of broth. This is a great Base recipe, and everyone can adjust the seasonings and/or ingredients to fit their indiviual taste. I will be having fun, cooking, and playing around with this recipe, for years to come.

BLT

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2010
This is a great standard recipe. The key for this sandwich is the quality of the ingredients. (Home Grown Tomatoes). My favorite BLT sandwich came from a restaurant up in Carmel, ca. I found out that they notched it up with a very thin layer of peanut butter, on one slice of the bread, and between the lettuce and tomatoes, they added thinly sliced Maui onion. Since I am not a peanut butter fan, I can't believe how much I love this sandwich. But I do.
