Extreme Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2010
Made a double batch to make a princess castle cake for my dd 3rd birthday. It was delicious, held up to carving and icing with regular buttercream. Everyone told me how good it was. Cooked it in a 9x13 glass dish and just checked with a toothpick for doneness. Will keep this one for sure.

Orange Glorious II

Added a splash of heavy cream for richness and a little less sugar. Served the kids then added Mango Malibu for the adults. (Put the extra in popsicle holders, froze them and made icy cocktails the next night too!!) Keeper!

Nice and easy. Omitted the pistachios, added almonds and orange zest. Will use again and again with all the different combos. Anise and poppyseed next batch and will freeze!

Oaty Cereal Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2010
Cheerios, oats, rice krispies, walnuts, almonds, ground flax seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, raisins and a few chocolate chips (which melt when you mix it and make it extra yummy). All totalled to 4 cups....boiled honey, brown sugar and maple syrup for 30 seconds past a boil. PERFECT! I just made these again and they fell apart. I think it was because my peanut butter was cold and not at room temp (I was using all natural). Next time I will let it come to room temp first!

Brown and Wild Rice Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2011
Good recipe. Used an ancient grain mix from costco and added some chopped celery instead of nuts. Next time I will add mandarin oranges. A keeper for sure....maybe a little heavy on the vinegar taste but I just cut back a little.

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2009
Yum. I added bacon, brocoli, frozen spinach and fresh cherry tomatoes with ravoli. Make sure to microplane the garlic so it infuses really well with no big chunks.

Really, seriously good. I only made 1/2 the recipe and it covered a 9x13 no problem! Can't wait to make some cinnamon buns!

Peppermint Meringues

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2012
Turned out great. Placed a toasted blanched almond at the bottom and skipped the peppermint part. Also made them a little bigger so had to cook for about 20 minutes longer.

Carrot and Ginger Soup

Very good soup. I added few teaspoons of butter at the end to smooth out the taste a little (didn't add the cream). My 8 month old baby and my husband both LOVE this soup.

So fast, so yummy, even better for leftovers the next day. I am sometimes a lazy cook- Usually only use a bottled italian dressing and the havarti. Still tastes great!

Love it. Used a little butter, a little coconut oil. Added shredded fresh spinach. Slightly mashed it to make it a little more stew like. Hope the family likes it because I sure do. (update- big thumbs down from the kids but me and hubby LOVE IT!!!)
