Sesame Beef

Reviewed: May 9, 2007
We make this a lot - usually marinate it overnight and I always use Splenda rather than sugar. Like another reviewer, I also throw some asparagus in to the stir-fry towards the end. Fabulous!!

Steaks With Roquefort Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2006
Wow, this was fabulous!!! I didn't have any brandy on hand so I used Merlot. Very, very good. The sauce could have been thicker, perhaps next time I will add a little flour or cornstarch. I used the leftovers on pasta. YUM! Thanks for sharing!

Garlic Bread Fantastique

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2005
I had forgotten what a previous reviewer had said about it being salty and put the full amount in. I thought it was still really good, but way too salty. I recommend cutting the salt at least in half or adding to taste. I will definitely make this again, but without all the salt. If it merits 5 stars, will edit the rating. ***edited to say that it was so much better eliminating the salt. I love this bread!

Peach Ice Cream

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2005
I usually don't care for fruit ice creams, but this was fantastic. I only made a half batch and it is still a LOT of ice cream! I used splenda instead of sugar to cut down on the calories, and it was really good. Nice peachy flavor.

Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2005
WOW! We loved this pizza - so much that I made it a second time less than a week later. I couldn't find a prepared crust of that size so I bought a whole wheat dough ball, which was excellent with this pizza. I also followed a recommendation of making the blue cheese dressing on this site(Bob's). It was FANTASTIC!!! I didn't put as much dressing or mozzarella on the pizza as it started to look a little overwhelming. My husband and I like to dip the pizza into the remaining blue cheese. Highly recommend making your own blue cheese to go with this pizza, well worth the extra effort. Thanks for this recipe, it is a keeper!!!

Pumpkin Cranberry Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2005
This bread was excellent. I loved the tang of the cranberries. I modified it to cut down on the calories(to ease my guilt over slathering it with the Cream Cheese Frosting II!) I subbed whole wheat flour for white, splenda for the sugar, and unsweetened applesauce for the oil. I will definitely be making this again.

Penne and Vodka Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2005
This is by far the best recipe I have tried for penne a la vodka. I did have to make some modifications - I crushed two cloves of garlic and added it to the pancetta. Next time I will use 4 as it could use a little more kick. I also chopped fresh basil and stirred it in just before serving. Topped with freshly grated parmesan. I could not stop eating this it was that good. Served with italian bread to dip in olive oil and top with the parmesan and more basil.

Bob's Blue Cheese Dressing

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2005
I didn't use this on a salad, but instead with the buffalo chicken pizza on this website. It was FABULOUS!!! Made it twice in one week. Highly recommend trying it with the pizza. Super yum!

Roquefort Pear Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2005
My pears weren't ripe yet and I couldn't wait, so I made this with Gala apples. I have made this salad ~5 times in the past few months. LOVE IT!!!! It is my new favorite, well worth the prep time. SO SO good!!! Thanks! (didn't add onions or avocados)

Black and Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2004
I thought these muffins turned out very nicely. I did modify the recipe a tiny bit - I used 2 cups of whole wheat flour instead of 1 cup whole wheat, 1 cup white. I also substituted splenda for the sugar. I think it cuts out about 40 cals per muffin. These are a great snack, my husband and I love them.
