Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2008
Very tasty. I used Kielbasa sausage instead of andoille to cut back on the grease. It didn't make as much as I expected, but not bad either. This was my first time making Jambalaya and I think it turned out great.

Chicken Salad with Peaches and Walnuts

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2008
Very tasty salad. I used a rotisserie chicken and it ended up being too overpowering, so stick with regular cooked chicken. The poppy seed dressing with the peaches tasted great.

Anna's Amazing Easy Pleasy Meatballs over Buttered Noodles

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2008
Very tasty. I halved the recipe and put in only 1 lb of meatballs so we would be sure to have lots of gravy and we did. I brought it to a boil then simmered it on the stove for 2 hours instead of putting it in a crock pot and served it over rice instead of noodles. A delicious and easy meal I will make again.

Ground Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2008
Delicious. However, the barley needs the entire hour along with the vegetables - 15 minutes was definitely not long enough. I seasoned the meat while browning it, otherwise I followed the recipe exactly.

Gravy Baked Pork Chops

Delicious. I never cook pork chops well and I was able to make this one.

Harvest Yams

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2008
This tasted fantastic. It left a lot of juices in the pan, so I mashed up the yams and drizzled some of the juice on top.. yummy! I also put a little brown sugar on top (a few Tbl.) and cut the maple syrup down to 1/2 c. Next time I will use a little less butter.

Fluffy Peanut Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
Delicious. I enjoyed scraping the bowl :o) It is hard to spread, so I microwaved it for 20 seconds and that helped (but it also separated slightly which ruined the look but not the taste).

Chicken and Red Bean Enchiladas

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
This turned out to be very yummy. I used rotisserie chicken and the only thing I did differently is I used less onions.

15-Minute Dinner Nachos Supreme

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2008
Delicious! Served more than 4 for us, but even the left overs were tasty. I substituted turkey for beef and followed the rest of the recipe exactly. Yummy.

Delicious. I didn't make the glaze and thought they were fine without it.. they hold their own!

Lemon Garlic Tilapia

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
This tasted wonderful. My husband turned to me and said, "Honey, this is delicious fish" - and he can be a hard one to please. Even my 2 year old son ate his entire portion and asked for more "ish" I followed the suggestions of others and sauted the ingredients and then poured that over the fish. I cooked it for 20 min. at 375 degrees. This will now be part of our regular meal rotation.

Cheesy Ham Cups

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2009
Very easy to make and a well rounded addition to your meal, not to mention they are really cute. I used less cheese and added some garlic powder and pepper to the egg mixture. Yummy!

Homemade Vanilla Pudding

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2009
Tasted fake and flavorless. I even added more vanilla than called for. Reminded me of sweetened condensed milk mixed with corn syrup.

Unstuffed Cabbage

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2009
This dish is good but can be great if some changes are made. Next time I will cut out the dill completely. Not add cumin (as one person suggested) and put cheese on the top.

Ham 'n' Cheese Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
The taste was not right with these muffins. Too much cumin I think. I added some onion and garlic powder as suggested by another review and that seemed ok, they definitely were not bland - they just didn't taste very good.

The Best Bean and Ham Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2009
I thought this was delicious. It had a sweet sort of BBQ flavor, probably because my ham was a honey ham. I didn't have a 15 bean mix on had so I used a bag of navy beans, I'm sure it would be even better with the variety of beans called for. I halved the recipe and it fit perfectly in my 5 quart crock pot.

Whipped Cream

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
This wasn't sweet enough and just wasn't right. My mother made cream a lot when I was younger and I was trying to get it to taste like what I remember. I played around with it and this is what I came up with. 3/4 c. heavy whipping cream, 2 T. granulated sugar and 1 t. vanilla. It tasted fantastic! (yields 1-1/2 c. whipped cream)

Maple Sausage Breakfast Burritos

These were yummy. I followed the recipe and thought they were good all on their own without adding extra cheese or salsa. I made fresh tortillas and that added the perfect touch.

Chicken Spaghetti III

Reviewed: May 28, 2009
This was decent. I thought it was a bit bland but couldn't figure out what it needed. However, I do think it would benefit from using sun dried tomatoes rather than canned tomatoes.
