Classic Pear Crisp

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2015
A very yummy dessert. I was looking for a recipe that I could use several pears in that never fully ripened. I added extra ginger and cooked 10 minutes longer (since they were under-ripe) and it was excellent.

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2015
I made this in my 10.5" cast iron skillet and it was amazing! I used 2.5 cups of blueberries. The taste was delicious and the crisp edges were sooo good! Next time though I'll need to add half again as much batter for that size pan.

Chef John's Dutch Babies

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2015
Delicious and enjoyed by all. I used a cast iron skillet and it had a beautiful crust and yet was so soft inside. *side note: I melted the butter in the skillet in the oven while it was preheating.

Rhubarb Strawberry Crunch

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2015
Very tasty! I think there is more topping than filling so next time I would increase the filling ratio by a third.

I used the ingredients as listed but cooked in a slow cooker for 4 hours. It was enjoyed by all (including my 3, 6, and 8 year old).

My Best Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2015
I needed to add lots of additional spices. I used poultry seasoning, more pepper, onion powder. Tasted kinda "floury" but everyone gobbled it up.

Chiarello's Chicken and Pastina Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2015
Delicious! I used my own turkey broth and added more of each veggie called for and a little more broth to stretch the quantity a bit. Saving this one for sure! p.s. I blended some of the soup to feed to my 10-month old. It was delicious that way also - kinda creamy.

Creamy Pear Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2015
This was enjoyed by all who tried it. I made the topping as written and had to throw it out, there was no way it was going to go from goop to crumbly. I started over and used cold butter which I cut in and that worked out beautifully.

Spam™ and Napa Cabbage

I reduced the soy sauce to 1 T. left the rest as is. My family ate it up (I served it for St. Patrick's Day). It really was quick and easy.

Grandma's Coconut Corn Flake Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2015
These taste good but they go moist/soft/sticky really quickly. I was making them to store and use in my kids' lunch over the next few weeks and I don't think they'll hold up to storage at all. They wouldn't work well for a pot luck either because of the stickiness factor. It was fun trying out a new cookie recipe we'd never had before but I probably won't make these again.

Gingerbread Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2014
Such a yummy cupcake and so nice during the holidays. I followed the recipe as written for the cupcake and they turned out great. Nicely domed, moist, soft, and yummy. Like others I used my own cream cheese frosting recipe but I added 3 drops of pure Lemon essential oil and it turned out amazing!

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2014
This turned out wonderful for me. Light and flavorful. I followed the recipe as written. It took 70-75 minutes and I needed to turn the heat down for the last 15 since the edges were browning but the middle wasn't done. This worked well. It was a very yummy quick bread.
