LuvAnn's Guacamole

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2006
I think it's a sin to add garlic to guacamole... if you want authentic Mexican guacamole anyway and that's why I love this recipe so much. This recipe tastes just like it does in Mexico. Delicious!

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2005
I didn't make this for myself, I made it for my friend and he LOVED it. It's definitely important to use a bbq sauce that you love. I used a spicy tandoori bbq sauce. I'll make this again for sure. It couldn't be easier.

Brownie Pudding

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2005
I always try to make healthier versions of recipes but a lot of the time, they just don't taste that great. I'm so glad I found this recipe! It worked out perfectly. I took some of the other reviewers advice and added more cocoa but cut down on the brown sugar and boiling water (I used coffee as well). They're good on their own but they're even better with just a little bit of vanilla ice cream! Thanks for the great recipe Lynda!

I just realized I never wrote a review for this. I absolutely love LOVE this drink. I even prefer it over Timmy's iced caps. THanks for the recipe!

Good recipe! I cut down on the sugar a little bit and added chocolate chips. Very good.

Muesli

Reviewed: May 23, 2005
Mmmmm this is wonderful. So easy to throw together, too. I didn't have walnuts or any other kind of nuts for that matter so I used used flax seeds instead. Next time I will use almond slivers. I love muesli but never thought about making my own so I'm glad I came across this recipe!

Cola Chops

Reviewed: May 22, 2005
I didn't like these at all. The meat came out really tough and there was no taste to them. I followed the directions so I don't know what happened. I won't make them again though.

Raw Brownies

Reviewed: May 3, 2005
These are so good! I want to try them with coconut in them next time I make them. Like some other reviewers, I added peanut butter to mine. It was a perfect touch.

Honey Mustard Dressing II

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2005
I have been avoiding salads lately because I am so sick of most salad dressings. I like oil based dressings but find they don't have powerful flavour so I end up using a lot which results in a high calorie, high fat salad. And bottled dressings I'm just plain sick of. When I read the reviews for this recipe I had to try it right away and I'm so glad I did. Now that head of lettuce in my fridge won't go bad. The only modification I made was that I used low cal, low fat mayo. It is just delicious. Thanks for the recipe Mary Ann!

Juiciest Hamburgers Ever

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2005
I think this is a good start to a hamburger recipe but it definitely needs some more added to it. I added some hot peppers, salt, and some hot spice mix to them. I will make these again.

Cucumbers And Egg Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2005
Not my favourite. It actually ended up going bad in my fridge. I was surprised I didn't like this because I love dill pickles and cucumber but I guess just not cut up in my egg salad.

Kathy's Delicious Whole Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2005
This was good. I thought it tasted like teriyaki chicken. I shredded the chicken beforehand and thickened the sauce and served with stir fried vegetables and rice.

Daddy's Guacamole Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2005
Growing up I hated avocadoes and I hadn't tried to eat them since I was a kid so I bought a couple the other day thinking I'd try them out again. I still didn't like them... until I made this dip that is. It is phenomenal! I blended everything up in the food processor and left out the sweet onion. I also used real garlic instead of garlic powder. It is absolutely delicious. Thank you very much for this recipe!

Orange Ginger Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2005
This is such a nice change from your regular tuna salad. I absolutely love it. The only changes I made was not adding cashews (don't like them) and instead of adding all the mayo, I just use half a tbsp of mayo and the rest I use hot mustard. I also freeze ginger root and then grate some onto it. Frozen ginger grates into a wonderful powder. I will be making this recipe all the time now. Thanks Edie!

Cooking Light magazine's Caesar Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2005
This is sooooo delicious! I really had my doubts but I was pleasantly surprised. The only changes I made was that I put tofu into the salad for extra protein and didn't use anchovies because I forgot to buy some. It's just as good as a regular caesar salad.

Cuban Midnight Sandwich

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2005
I've always heard of Cuban sandwiches but I never knew what they were so I tried it out. It was soooo good. I followed the recipe exactly the first time but since I figure I'll eat them often I made it again but I cut down on the mayo and toasted the hoagie with the swiss cheese on it so I wouldn't have to use the olive oil. Delicious!

Groovie Smoothie

I love strawberries and banana smoothies. The only change I made was using plain yogurt and some splenda to sweeten as opposed to vanilla yogurt. Delicious!

Fried Spinach

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2005
Spinach has always been the one food I hate. I try to eat it anyway because it's a good source of iron. I really liked it cooked this way because it didn't taste spinachy to me. I substituted the egg with ground flax seed meal and milk for added fibre. And next time I would just leave the bacon out of it. It's good with the bacon but I think it would be just as good without.

Tangy Egg Salad Spread

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2005
This is a great recipe for egg salad! My only complaint is that it was way too salty for my liking. The only modifications I made were cutting down on the mayo by half and the mustard as well just because I like my egg salad to taste really egg-y. I'll make this again but with much less salts.

Banana-Oatmeal Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2005
This is a great recipe! I tried to make them as healthy as possible with what I had so I didn't put in the full cup of brown sugar, I didn't use as much oil and I used all whole wheat flour. I also made them as muffins and when they came out the outside was crunchy and the inside was nice and moist. Delicious!
