Southern Praline Pecan Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2004
I made this cake according to the recipe and I must say I was disappointed. It was very moist but I thought it lacked flavor. I was really disappointed as I had read all the rave reviews.

Key Lime Cake II

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2004
This cake is just delicious and so very moist. I've made it twice now and everyone just loves it. And so simple to make. Wish I could give it more than five stars!

Christmas Breakfast Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2004
I made this for the first time last night and we had it for breakfast this morning. It was soooo good. I used spicy sausage which might account for the good flavor. I used an 8 x 10 glass pan and it worked out well. I might try adding a couple more eggs next time (as others have suggested), but it was delicious just as is. Also, I'm going to freeze the leftovers (there are only 2 of us) and reheat in the microwave.

Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2004
These ribs are awesome!! I used to cook my ribs for hours and they were never this tender. They truly fall right off the bone. After baking these, I add more sauce and cook them under the broiler for about 10-15 minutes. Also, I always remove the skin on the underside of the ribs. Take a sharp knife (like a paring knife) and slide it under the skin to get it started. Then, because it's so slipery, I use a paper towel to pull the skin off. Once I get it started, it usually comes off in one piece. VERY IMPORTANT: Use heavy duty aluminum foil doubled over. The first time I made these I used regular foil and it leaked and I had a mess.

Christmas Wreaths

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2006
This is an old family favorite here. But for a tad different flavor, I use almond extract instead of vanilla. Either way, they're delicious and festive.

Sarge's EZ Pulled Pork BBQ

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2007
This was the first time I made pulled pork and it was so easy and so good. But one problem I had was that after mixing the juices with bar-b-que sauce and then mixing it into the pork, the pork became sort've mushy. It tasted great, but it was (as another reviewer stated) sort've a pate.

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2007
This was awesome! I made the suggested changes: 2 pkg. italian dressing, beef broth instead of water, omitted salt. I slow cooked it for 10 hours and it shreaded up very nicely. I used a rump roast and it was great. I used a 2 lb. roast and didn't change the amount of spices. This is definately a keeper! Oh, I added a little hot sauce for a bit of a kick.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: May 17, 2007
This was the easiest and best tasting chicken and dumplings ever!! I followed the suggestions of others and used chicken broth instead of water and added frozen veggies after three hours. I also used bisquick for the dumplings as it really was easier than using the rolls. I let it cook for about an hour after adding the dumplings and they were done. It was a great meal. Oh, also... right before adding the dumplings, I took the chicken out and cut it in chunky bite-sized pieces then put it back in the crock pot.

Little Meat Loaves

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2008
This is an awesome recipe that I've made several times. The only thing I change is that instead of buttery rounds, I use Italian bread crumbs. This one is a keeper.

Miller's Marinara

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2011
This is an awesome recipe. Just made it and it was delicious. I read other reviews and lowered the salt to 1 tsp. and it was good. It was really very (spicy) hot, but I might've used tablespoons instead of teaspoons for the pepper. But I like spicy so all is good, but I use teaspoons next time. This is a keeper!!
