Blackberry Cobbler II

Left out one star because I had to modify by doubling the batter and reducing the sugar. With that it was verrrryyy yummy.

I followed the recipe exactly and it had very little flavor. Sorry, but we didn't enjoy this one.

Flavorful Beef Stir-Fry

I made this last night with red wine as the liquid for the sauce and the addition of tri-color bell peppers...wonderful, fast, easy, adaptable recipe! The kids and husband all loved it. I'll be making this again for sure!

Quick and Easy Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2007
We loved this recipe - I did combine it a few things from another on this site, but this recipe was the base. After combining everything I added shredded cheddar on top, baked at 350 for 20 minutes - added french fried onions and baked for 5 more minutes. Thank you for an easy tasty one dish meal!

Made these about a dozen times now any everyone that I make them for LOVES them. Once I ran out of regular crackers and substitued zesty cheese crackers to make the crumbs...It was great! I've made it a permanent change now. Thanks for a tasty recipe!

Pumpkin Dessert

Oh My Gosh!!! Thank you Bea for a different pumpkin dessert. I went home for Thanksgiving to the VERY rural Jackson County, West Virginia. Normally my family likes my sweet potato pies...but my Brother had a serving of you Pumpkin Dessert and LOVED it...he insisted that I give his wife the recipe...the sweet potato pies I had brought as well were left in the fridge barely touched.

Garlic Chicken

Thank you Carol for this great garlicky treat! I've made this recipe a dozen or so times now, as written, and my whole family loves it. Best features are that it's fast, easy, and very versatile. I've cut the breasts diagonally into strips and served them over a large garden salad with rolls, placed them over parmesan angel hair pasta, and served them over fettuccini alfredo. Each way is delicious!

Pork Chop and Feta Skillet

Reviewed: May 30, 2005
This was a tasty and easy way to do chops. I made these three days ago only changing the dried rosemary for fresh chopped rosemary and my husband just asked me to make them for dinner again today. We had them with baked potatoes and Smothered Green beans - another recipe from this site.

Very good stuff. Whole family enjoyed it. My kids like spinach, but even if they didn't I think they still would have liked this.

Land of Nod Cinnamon Buns

I thought these were very tasty, but they seem really rich. My son described it as 'they taste good, but after a few bites it starts getting to me'. I had a similar feeling. My daughter the sweet tooth diabetic LOVED them. I appreciated how easy they were to make.

Honey Lime Chicken Wings

Reviewed: May 20, 2005
This is a wonderfully different way to do chicken. I hate frying anything so after preparing this recipe as written a couple of times and having my kids fall in love with it I made a simple change. Now I use boneless chicken breast halves and cut them each into three even pieces. Then I bake them at 350 in the oven for about 30 minutes and finish with the same honey/lime treatment! Tangy/Sweet/Delicious

Gramma's Old Fashioned Chili Mac

Reviewed: May 20, 2005
My kids LOVE this meal. My only change was to substitute one pound of ground turkey for the beef and add another cup of macaroni. It makes a lot and my daughter always wants the left over for her lunch the next day. We enjoy it with a nice garden salad.

Chicken Flautas

Reviewed: May 20, 2005
We really liked the taste of these Flautas and since it uses a jar of picante, I could choose the amount of 'heat'. My husband doesn't cook, but with this recipe he was able to get in the kitchen with me and help prepare the meal. We were one mean assembly team! Would have been a challenge by myself. We served with sour cream, some additional picante sauce, and cucumber/tomato salad.

Cheesy Mexi-Rice Casserole

We skipped the creamed corn and really enjoyed the many tastes of this dish. It does make a ton, but there were no left-overs as it was gobbled up by the whole family - even my daughter who hates corn. Will definately make again.

Avocado Soup with Chicken and Lime

I LOVED this soup...although I was the only one in the family that felt that way. Followed the recipe exactly and was happy that my soupless dh and kids didn't have seconds, because it was all mine! :-) The lime and cilantro were a great flavor combo.

We love cauliflower and I'm always trying something different with it, but this just wasn't it for us. Followed the recipe exactly and something seems to be missing, not much flavor there except bread crumb.

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: May 20, 2005
I have made this many times now without the crock and with slight variation to Tesslynn's recipe. It has become a regular on our family menu and gets requested by both my husband and kids. Recipe changes - We use 2 lbs. of ground turkey instead of beef, substitute one of the cans of condensed cream of chicken soup with condensed cream of mushroom soup, and changed liquids to 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of skim milk. Cooking changes - I moved recently and chucked out the old crock pot so I have an alternative that's pretty easy. Oven at 350. Mix ingredients, make patties, and dredge in flour. Then I place them on a cookie sheet covered with foil and sprayed with cooking spray (easy clean-up). Cook at 350 for 45 minutes, turning after the first 30 minutes. In stock pot, mix together the cream of mushroom soup, au jus mix, and water/milk. Heat till warm. Place patties in the soup and mix. Cook on Low for 15 minutes. We have it with rice or mashed potatoes and a good veg.
